û They have short wings that help them to dive up to 900 feet to catch larger fish.
û They can swim 10-15 kilometers an hour

û The King penguin is the second largest penguin
û King Penguins are found on many sub-Antarctic
islands including Crozet, Prince Edward,
Kerguelen, South Georgia and Mazquarie Islands
û King penguins mainly eat fish with small
amounts of squid and crustaceans
û The King penguin has orange ear patches that are a closed tear-drop shape; while the Emperor penguin has a yellow open ear patch shape

û The Adelie is the "classic" penguin one thinks about since it most resembles that
"little guy in a tuxedo."
û Adelie penguins average around 8.5 pounds
û Adelie penguins are fairly restricted to the continent of Antarctica
û The male and the female can be distinguished only by behavioural and temporal cues
during the mating season

û Rockhoppers live on most of the islands

û The difference between Macaroni penguins and Royal Penguins is that the Macaroni has solid black feathers on the cheeks and under the chin on the throat, while the Royal penguins have white chins
û This penguin was named by the early English explorers. In the mid 18th century, a young man who wore flashy feathers in his hat was called a "Macaroni". This is also the origin for the words to "Yankee Doodle" sung during the Revolutionary War to poke fun at the poorly dressed Continental Army.

û There are three different subspecies of Meerkats.
û Meerkats can live around 10 years in the wild
û Adults will weigh around 2 pounds and stand an
average of 12 inches high. When they are on all
four of their feet their height is only 6 inches
û A Meerkat community is called a mob or gang,
and can number up to 40

Jelly Bean, Astro, Blackie, Lazer, Puffy, Mingnon, Snoop, Karayoké, Blade, Shread, Bart, and the leader Zoltan.

Our sole purpose is just to blow stuff up. Cant you just see them in army boots and jackets now?

I first became interested in bushbabies when Nick got me a stuffed one for christmas. We had quite an argument about weather it was a bush babie or a lemur. Of course, i was right, it was a bushbaby...

û All reingtailed lemurs tails contain 26 stripes - 13 white and 13 black.

û Emus can be five to six feet tall and weighing as much as 150 pounds
û Emus can run up to 40 mph.
û An emu lives for about 30 years.

This is Willie the emu. He lives only 10 minutes from my house! Crazy concidereing this it Ohio I live in. Either way, he is cool. I named him, i dont know what his real name is. I just think he's cool.

 

Ferret .........ferret

FERRETS

û There are two differant kinds of ferrets. The Black-footed Ferret
and the European Domestic Ferret
û The Black-footed Ferret is the only endangered domestic animal on earth
û Ferrets are carnivorous, they feed mainly on rabbits or ground nesting birds,
but you can buy proper dry ferret food at any pet store

Ferrets are cuter than cute! Shaun is going to own a Ferret someday and its name
is going to be Venwee. I also plan to have a ferret or two. As for their names,
I dont know. I have to see what they look like first! ;-)
