As the bright sun rose over and up into the clear azure sky, the
kingdom of the Crimson South, named Konan, was full of activity. In the cities,
merchants were on the streets selling their goods and cities
inhabitants bargained for deals. Everything seemed to be just like an ordinary busy
morning in the city, until one unfortunate event occurred inside the
Royal Palace. Hotohori, the handsome Emperor of Konan, was in the middle of a
crisis.
"By the Gods, where is it?!"
a loud voice rang out of the palace walls
in the large city of Konan. The palace guards jumped in alarm at the sudden
out burst coming from the emperor's room. With sharp spears in hand, the
guards went running down the nicely decorated halls that were covered with
lovely tapestries and statues that stood tall and elegantly. After going up a
flight of stairs, the guards came to the emperor's room and found it in
disarray. Pillows and soft linens from the bed where thrown carelessly onto the
ground.
The gold-crusted wardrobe that faced opposite of the bed was wide open,
with beautiful colored clothes scattered everywhere. Near the wardrobe was a
dresser that was usually nicely kept, was now all rearranged and the
drawers where taken out of the sockets where they stayed, the contents spilled
on the floor along with everything else.
"You Majesty, what has happened?"
The guards entered the room and
found their emperor on the floor almost in tears.
"It's...it's gone…" The emperor managed to say through the mental
shock that he was in. "I can't find it…I have searched everywhere.
" Eyes watering, mouth quivering, he spoke again.
One of the guards kneeled down to the emperor.
"What is missing Your Majesty? We will help you find what you are looking for."
The guard spoke softly and politely.
Before the emperor spoke again, he regained his composure and
stood, his strong, lean, agile body standing tall.
"A small treasure of mine is missing…something very precious to
me." His voice was soft and had a touch of sadness with it. The guards' eyes
narrowed, focusing on the problem.
"We will find it Your Majesty. We will look all over Konan for your
lost treasure. No matter the difficulty of this task." The guards all
kneeled with the highest respect, reassuring the emperor as best as they could. The
emperor understood perfectly what they were trying to say. The emperor
nodded.
"I understand your noble intentions in helping me."
His eyes looked out the balcony doors, which were open and let the soft, comforting smells
of the palace gardens. His eyes were filled with grief over his lost item. He
turned back to the guards.
"Now, listen carefully, this is what I want you to
find…"
