We cautiously returned to Sif Mons and saw that the lava slightly burned our shuttle, but the shuttle was otherwise unharmed by Sif Mons, which had stopped producing lava. That was close, I sighed, relieved by the hardening lava. My crewmate flailed his head absentmindedly, as if to nod in agreement. Just as I was going to ask what was wrong with the joints in his neck, I saw that he was taking rock samples with a drill. Why didnt I hear the drill rumbling? I muttered to myself, trotting over to help him. I brought more excavation supplies, I said to my crewmate. Good, he answered. I need those special gloves. It is semi-liquid and very hot. Better wear those to handle it. Fires had broken out over some parts of our ship, so we used fire extinguisher we had discovered while we searched for food. Geez, who knew that the packaging crew was so bad at packaging? If we ever go on another space trip, we will need to make sure that the food is secure, I complained. The ship was very cool and relaxing, because we left air conditioning (thankfully) before we left. As we entered, we smelled a strong odor of burning rubber, but we decided not to investigate. However, once we entered the ship, we knew what the odor of burning rubber was. Oh, no. The rubber lining of our shuttle is still smoldering from Sif Monss recent eruption, my crewmate moaned. We had to repair the damage, or our ship would not make it back to Earth without Venuss toxic atmosphere incinerating. We searched the shuttle desperately for space repair supplies. Surely, we packed them! I exclaimed. Look, Ive found some supplies, finally! my crewmate screamed. I heaved a sigh of relief. We used fire extinguisher to put out the flame before we repaired the protective rubber. As we repaired the rubber, we saw a very strange sight. Is that a meteor? my crewmate stuttered nervously. Something that looks like a meteor is heading near our landing site. Even though it was not going to hit us, the disruption might cause another eruption by the nearby volcano, Sif Mons. That thing might cause severe damage to our ship that could cause us to be stuck on this awful planet forever! I whimpered unhappily. My crewmate was truly horrified at the terrible thought. At once, we began to pack up our things. Next, the meteor struck. Our ship rattled. At least it didnt severely damage our ship, my crewmate commented optimistically. Our rovers radar picked up a slight rumbling inside Sif Mons. We still needed to explore more of this relatively large planet, so we boarded our shuttle and took off.
