Hello To All My Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
I have been thinking, (O.K., I hear the laughing now, and it is not dangerous for me to think!)  Life is so valuable!  How many times do we actually sit and think about what life means to us?  What is valuable to us?  Our stuff?  Our family?  Our Church?  God?   Hopefully its not in that order.  When we wake up in the morning, what is the first thing we think about?  (Other than the typical physical needs)  Does God get your first thoughts?   Is he first in your life?  If today, all our stuff was gone, the cars, our homes, our beds, we would still be alive, but we can get more stuff.  If today, all our family was gone, we would still be alive, although, more than likely, heart broken.  If the church we attend on Sunday was gone, (think about all the burned churches), you can rebuild or go to another church.  If you lost God today, What would you have?
Around the first of the year, I noticed that the common theme of all the T.V. evangelists was giving.  I saw one show in particular that was titled "First Fruits".  The general meaning of the message was that this evangelist said people would recieve a blessing, if they gave their first paycheck of each month to her ministry.  I will not dispute this practice.  I am sure a lot of people do this or similar types of giving.  Some stick strictly to giving their 10%.   I believe in supporting your church, (your local church, T.V. evangelist of your choice, foriegn missions, ect., what ever you are lead to support.  I believe support means,  your money gifts, your time gifts, your prayer gifts, and with your devotion to furthering the message of Christ.   I believe the greatest blessing you can receive will be when you  just give your first thoughts to God each day.  I don't believe their is a magic formula for giving, or a set person, place, or time in which to give.  The Lord loves a cheerful giver, our hearts should be in our giving.  Our gifts shouldn't just be a tax write off!  I don't think we will have to show God our reciepts to get into heaven.  Think about the ultiimate gift, given by Christ.  Spend time with God, learn to hear his voice,  and know his path.  If you do this, the Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you in all your decisions about giving.  Spend that quality time with him and he will provide you with the quality life you desire.  Don't loose God!  He is the most valuable possession we can ever have.  Our first gift should be the time We spend with him.

Sharing the Love of Christ,
Regina
