An abortion usually leaves a spiritually dead mother and a physically dead child in it's wake. There are other destructive consequences as well. Individuals and groups work to repair the damage. Very few children survive an abortion. If they do they often need treatment for physical and sometimes psychological damage. Gianna Jessens is one such survivor. Most of the efforts at recovery from abortion are therefore directed towards the mother.
