(A4b1) contraceptors

All we really need to know about contraception is that CONTRACEPTION IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. Sometimes, even deliberately, contraception is confused with abortion. The so-called birth control pill acts as an abortifacient, as do the "morning after" pill and the I.U.D. Some people promote contraception in the hope of reducing the number of abortions. Historically and statistically this doesn't work. Every society which has accepted contraception has, within a short time also accepted abortion. Some persist in promoting contraceptive style sex education. The results are increases in fornication, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancies and abortions. For those who fail to acknowledge these facts and blindly persist in promoting contraception as the lesser of two evils, and therefore increasing both contraception and abortion, I would pose the following question: Which is more evil, to prevent God from creating a new human being who will be happy with Him for all eternity or to kill a human being whom God will take to heaven with Him? ****************************************************************************************************************** ******* As of this date, 07-02-07, this folder conatins 12 items. ******* item 1 STUDY FINDS PUSHING CONTRACEPTION FOR TEENS "INCREASES PREGNANCIES AND ABORTIONS" ******* item 2 EXPLOSION IN SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES (STDs) CAUSED BY SAFE SEX MESSAGE ******* item 3 STUDY REVEALS CONDOMS ARE CARCINOGENIC ******* item 4 "CONTRACEPTION" FACT ******* item 5 CONTRACEPTION: NEWEST EFFORT TO DEFEAT PRO-LIFERS ******* item 6 BIRTH CONTROL HAZARDS ******* item 7 IMPACT OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES NOT IMMEDIATELY REVERSIBLE AFTER DISCONTINUATION ******* item 8 POPE PAUL VI AS PROPHET: HAVE HUMANAE VITAE'S BOLD PREDICTIONS COME TRUE? ******* item 9 "GENDER EQUALITY" PARTLY TO BLAME FOR FERTILITY DECLINE SAYS UN OFFICIAL ******* item 10 FEDERAL FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION REVEALS 17 FATALITIES IN 2 YEARS FROM CONTRACEPTIVE "SEX PATCH" ******* item 11 BIRTH CONTROL PILL LINKED TO 400% INCREASED RISK OF CERVICAL CANCER ******* item 12 CHANGE OF VATICAN POLICY ON CONDOMS 'NOT ON AGENDA' ****************************************************************************************************************** ******* item 1 STUDY FINDS PUSHING CONTRACEPTION FOR TEENS "INCREASES PREGNANCIES AND ABORTIONS" ******* LONDON, March 4, 2002 (LSN.ca) - A study released in the current Journal of Health Economics has found that following the government's plan to cut teenage pregnancy by 'improving access to contraception' actually increases pregnancies and abortions. The 14-year study conducted in 16 areas found the more girls aged 13-15 visited contraception-pushing 'family planning clinics', the higher was the conception rate. ******* Dr David Paton of Nottingham University Business School, who led the study said "Although family planning may make sexually active teenagers less likely to get pregnant, it seems that it also encourages others to start having sex. Of course, this is the opposite of what sex educators contend. ******* Spread the word. ******* Yours sincerely, ******* Austin Ruse, President ******* At a public health conference held last week in Washington DC, doctors cited evidence of an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among the nations teenagers, and cited safe-sex programs and condom-distribution as contributing factors of the problem. ******* At the conference, researcher Dr. David Hager reported that within the US each year, chlamydia cases increase by 4 million, pelvic inflammatory disease by 1.2 million, gonorrheae by 2 million, genital herpes by 1 million and human papilloma virus (HPV) by 5.5 million. According to the American Social Health Association, 3.8 million of these and other STD cases are contracted by US teensthe highest contraction rate within the general US population. In fact, almost 45% of all teenagers and young adults are infected with at least one STD by their mid-twenties. ******* Many of these STDs cannot be cured, leading to long-term health problems including infertility and even cancer. 95% of all cases of cervical cancer are associated with HPV infection, resulting in 4000 deaths a year in the United States. ******* Yet teenagers continue to be the most targeted group for the safe-sex message, which advocates condom use to prevent the spread of STDs, including HIV. According to groups such as Planned Parenthood, safer-sex practice allows couples to reduce their sexual health risks. Safer sex is anything we do to lower our risk of sexually transmitted infection. ******* Unfortunately, new statistics and studies have concluded that while condom usage has increased most among teens, STDs have also increased most among teens. Project Reality, the advocacy group sponsoring the conference, points out that the popular claim that condoms help prevent the spread of STDs, is not supported by the data. If condoms were effective against STDs, the increase in condom usage would correlate to a decrease in STDs overallwhich is not the case. Rather as condom usage increases, so do rates of STDs. ******* In addition to such statistics on STD cases, studies on sexual activity during adolescence also show increased percentages of depression, suicide, as well as an assortment of emotional problems including loss of self-respect, esteem, and trust among sexually active teens compared. ******* As Hager went on to point out, the only way to guarantee teens will not contract such diseases, or, prevent increases in these emotional and behavioral problems is to promote the delay of sexual activity until they are in a mutually, monogamous relationship within marriage," not the safe-sex message. The most effective messages promoting the delay of sexual activity came from parents and moral beliefs, which "accounted for 53% of the influences affecting teen decisions about sex. ******* Hagars presentation on teenage sexuality comes on the heels of similar statistics reported by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the American Cancer Society, and the National Institutes of Health, which show correlations between the increases in STD with increases in condom usage and promotion of the safe-sex message. ******* Copyright Culture of Life Foundation. ******* Permission granted for unlimited use. Of 32 types tested, 29 contained the cancer-causing chemical at highly elevated levels, up to three times what could be found in food, the study showed. ******* Study scientists, who conducted the research at The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Institute in Stuttgart, Germany, said "N-Nitrosamine is one of the most carcinogenic substances," as reported by the Reuters news service. Abstinence works 100 percent of the time. (Frank Joseph MD ******* Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Abortion Federation and pro-abortion politicians all make money directly or indirectly from abortion, and that is why they push it. ******* But abortion comprises only one-third of their financial portfolio. They make another third by selling contraceptives, pregnancy tests and sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment. ******* The final third comes from the government, which pays them to promote the illicit sexual behavior via "sexual education" that generates business for the aforementioned two-thirds of their operation. ******* Never forget that everything abortion activists do is to make money from promiscuous sex, and they have developed a clever triangular scheme toward that end. They have carved out their market niche through selling all aspects of illicit sexual behavior: first by promoting it, and then by preventing or reversing its consequences. ******* But their marketing strategies of the past 30 years have finally started to fail. The "pro-choice" sound bites; the rigid, vicious fights against any attempts to tamper with abortion in any way; and turning to judicial tyrants to get their way when the people try to subdue them. ******* The 2004 election was the last straw, forcing them in recent months to dramatically shift their strategies. They have determined to appear sensitive about abortion and to focus less on that and more on contraception. ******* Their two new talking points are: ******* "Can we all work together to prevent unintended pregnancies by promoting better access to contraceptives?" ******* "Pro-lifers are so fanatical they are even against contraception." ******* Pro-aborts have repeated those two points in the press in recent weeks like cloned parrots. ******* NARAL even placed an ad in the conservative Weekly Standard last month on talking point No. 1. Note NARAL goes so far as to call us the "Right-To-Life Movement," glaring evidence it has switched tactics to appear more thoughtful and less barbaric to the American people. (NARAL also came out neutral on the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act - a huge concession.) ******* Point No. 1 is a win-win for pro-aborts. It makes them appear rational on the topic of abortion while at the same time promoting sex ed and contraceptives, both moneymakers for them. And when contraceptives fail, they know they will still make money from abortion without having to push it so rabidly. ******* Pro-lifers can counter this point by demonstrating the great success of abstinence training and the upsides of chaste living. ******* We cannot budge on the counterfeit "abstinence plus" training the other side is hawking, which says it's great to teach abstinence, but kids should also be given "tools" if they cannot control themselves. This is ridiculous. ******* To correlate, I don't know one wife who would pack a condom in her husband's suitcase saying, "I expect you'll be faithful while away on business, but just in case ..." In other words, let's not advise our children any differently than we advise ourselves. ******* And I also don't know one teen boy who has gotten so drunk he made a pass at his own mother. In other words, we all have the wherewithal to resist sexual urges if we really want to. ******* Point No. 2 is smart, too. Because the American public no longer considers the pro-life view on abortion extremist, pro-aborts must figure out another way to make us appear fanatical. They have settled on the topic of contraception. ******* The contraceptive mentality is so engrained in American minds that to consider reverting to the day when sex was practiced solely within the confines of marriage, with each act carrying with it the potential blessing of children, is simply crazy to them. ******* Pro-aborts know this is a wedge issue for pro-lifers. The natural family planning mentality is foreign to most Protestants and prehistoric to many Catholics. ******* I am one Protestant who has come to believe that contraception is wrong, based on my analysis of Scripture. But I remember thinking what a bizarre concept this was when my Catholic pro-life friends first brought it to my attention. ******* Pro-lifers must get on top of these latest attempts by pro-aborts to pigeonhole and divide us and come up with counteroffensives. ******* Pro-life groups and churches must take greater responsibility for abstinence training and not leave that up to the pregnancy help centers. We must also continue to dialogue about the issue of contraception and make up our minds not let the other side divide us on that. ******* Jill Stanek fought to stop "live-birth abortion" after witnessing one as a registered nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill. I know of many women who have been unable to have children. Many of these women were on birth control for 5 or more years. The reason for their infertility is usually diagnosed as unknown. The AACE announced May 18, 2005: ******* Despite the benefits of OC (oral contraceptives), their use has been associated with sexual dysfunction and androgen insufficiency). OC are known to decrease serum testosterone levels by decreasing ovarian production of testosterone and by increasing production of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) from the liver. It has been assumed that these changes are reversible after discontinuation of OC use. ******* In the study of 102 pre-menopausal women with female sexual dysfunction, SHBG values in the OC group were seven times higher than those in the never-user group. OC lowers the free androgen index, in part, by substantially increasing SHBG levels. Despite a decrease in SHBG values after discontinuation of OC use, SHBG levels remained continuously elevated for up to one year in comparison with those in the control group. The free androgen index may remain low for a prolonged period. http://www.news-medical.net/print_article.asp?id=10200 ******* I know of no independent, unbiased study of the long-term effects of birth control. It is unlikely that any such research will ever take place. I doubt that the detrimental, long-term affects of oral contraceptives will ever be fully known. Birth control is big business. There is big money behind the drug lobbies. The drug lobbies influence nearly every politician and government agency. ******* There is an underlying Margaret Sanger, Alfred Kinsey philosophy which directs government legislation and spending. Sex education is mandated in most government school curriculum. Birth control is easily obtainable at taxpayer expense. Through Title X, taxpayers contribute hundreds of millions every year to fund birth control and sex education. ******* The package inserts on birth control pills list a litany of side effects not usually mentioned by your friendly Planned Parenthood dispensary. The primary function of OCs is to make the user infertile. Fertility is assumed to resume when the pill is no longer taken. The AACE study, though not directly aimed at fertility, states that the female body does not immediately return to normal when OC usage is stopped. ******* Some women are probably more affected by OC use than others. The AACE study leaves us with more questions than answers. How long is a prolonged period? How long did these women take OC? How old were they? What kind of OC did they take? How many of them are still infertile since they discontinued OC use? ******* Confidence in drug companies and in government should be shaken if the public learned that oral contraception might cause them permanent infertility. If the American people knew the politics behind OC approval, they might view drug companies with greater suspicion. Perhaps I am giving the American people too much credit! ******* Business is brisk for snake oil salesmen peddling OC. As long as men believe they can circumvent Gods law, they will believe they can do it with impunity. ******* Sex education is devoid of morals; it scoffs at Gods prohibitions on sex outside of marriage. These failed government programs were implemented to curb teen pregnancy; they have had the opposite affect. ******* Birth control fails; abortion was legalized to compensate for its inadequacies. Now the vast majority of spouses, as well as those who are unmarried, use some form of contraception. ******* To be sure, the encyclical was not written to be a prophetic document. Rather, it was written to be a clarifying document, intending to explain what the Church teaches about contraception. The encyclical does present this teaching clearly, but it has been little heeded during the last 25 years. Statistics show that few Catholics live by these teachings, and it seems safe to suppose that few Catholics have read Humanae Vitae. ******* Christians understand marriage as an elevated calling, whereby God enlists spouses in the all-important enterprise of bringing forth new human life. The Church teaches that to use contraception is to reject God and his life-giving blessings. The Church teaches not merely that contraception is wrong, but that because contraception is wrong, it will have bad consequences. ******* Four Prophecies ******* Pope Paul VI made four rather general "prophecies" about what would happen if the Church's teaching on contraception were ignored. ******* Infidelity and moral decline ******* The Pope first noted that the widespread use of contraception would "lead to conjugal infidelity and the general lowering of morality." That there has been a widespread decline in morality, especially sexual morality, in the last 25 years, is very difficult to deny. The increase in the number of divorces, abortion, our-of-wedlock pregnancies, and venereal diseases should convince any skeptic that sexual morality is not the strong suit of our age. ******* There is no question that contraception is behind much of this trouble. Contraception has made sexual activity a much more popular option that it was when the fear of pregnancy deterred a great number of young men and women from engaging in premarital sexual intercourse. The availability of contraception has led them to believe that they can engage in premarital sexual activity "responsibly." But teenagers are about as responsible in their use of contraception as they are in all other phases of their lives--such as making their beds, cleaning their rooms and getting their homework done on time. ******* Lost Respect for Women ******* Paul VI also argued that "the man" will lose respect for "the woman" and "no longer (care) for her physical and psychological equilibrium" and will come to "the point of considering her as a mere instrument of selfish enjoyment and no longer as his respected and beloved companion." This concern reflects what has come to be known as a "personalist" understanding of morality. The personalist understanding of wrongdoing is based upon respect for the dignity of the human person. The Pope realized that the Church's teaching on contraception is designed to protect the good of conjugal love. When spouses violate this good, they do not act in accord with their innate dignity and thus they endanger their own happiness. Treating their bodies as mechanical instruments to be manipulated for their own purposes, they risk treating each other as objects of pleasure. ******* Abuse of Power ******* Paul VI also observed that the widespread acceptance of contraception would place a "dangerous weapon... in the hands of those public authorities who take no heed of moral exigencies." The history of the family-planning programs in the Third World is a sobering testimony to this reality. In Third World countries many people undergo sterilization unaware of what they are doing. The forced abortion program in China shows the stark extreme toward which governments will take population programs. Moreover, few people are willing to recognize the growing evidence that many parts of the world face not overpopulation, but underpopulation. It will take years to reverse the "anti-child" mentality now entrenched in many societies. ******* Unlimited Dominion ******* Pope Paul's final warning was that contraception would lead man to think that he had unlimited dominion over his own body. Sterilization is now the most widely used form of contraception in the U.S.; individuals are so convinced of their rights to control their own bodies that they do not hesitate to alter even their own physical make-up. ******* The desire for unlimited dominion over one's own body extends beyond contraception. The production of "test-tube babies" is another indication of the refusal to accept the body's limitations; so too are euthanasia and the use of organs transplanted from those who are "nearly" dead. We seek to adjust the body to our desires and timetables, rather than adjusting ourselves to its needs. ******* Positive Prophecies ******* In Humanae Vitae Pope Paul made some positive predictions as well. He acknowledged that spouses might have difficulty in acquiring the self-discipline necessary to practice the methods of family planning that require periodic abstinence. But he taught that self-discipline was possible, especially with the help of sacramental grace. In Section 21, he remarked: ******* ....the discipline which is proper to the purity of married couples, far from harming conjugal love, rather confers on it a higher human value. It demands continual effort yet, thanks to its beneficent influence, husband and wife fully develop their personalities, being enriched with spiritual values. Such discipline bestows upon family life fruits of serenity and peace; and facilitates the solution of other problems; it favors attention for one's partner, helps both parties to drive out selfishness, the enemy of true love, and deepens their sense of responsibility. ******* While this passage of Humanae Vitae is rarely studied, Pope John Paul II is one commentator who recognizes the depth of its wisdom. It plays the central role in his reflections on Humanae Vitae; he focuses on the importance of "self-mastery" for the proper use of sexuality, and explains the meaning of the human body and the human person as these bear upon sexuality. ******* John Paul II has spoken of the Church's teaching on contraception as a part of the "permanent patrimony" of the Faith. Twenty-five years of neglecting Humanae Vitae have produced enough unpleasant consequences to help us recognize how foolish and dangerous it is to squander that patrimony. ******************************************************************************************************************** ******* item 9 "GENDER EQUALITY" PARTLY TO BLAME FOR FERTILITY DECLINE SAYS UN OFFICIAL ******* Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2004 12:22:02 -0700 ******* From: "Austin Ruse -- C-FAM" ******* Dear Colleague, ******* We report today on a very interesting speech by a high ranking UN official who continues to raise the alarm about rapidly declining fertility rates around the globe. In a recent speech Dr. Joseph Chamie, the chief UN statistician, said the fight for gender equality is exacerbating the problem of encroaching demographic winter. ******* Spread the word. ******* Yours sincerely, Austin Ruse, President, Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute ******* FRIDAY FAX July 23, 2004 Volume 7, NUmber 31 ******* In a speech delivered this Spring that was largely ignored by the news media, the United Nations chief demographer declared that the very existence of some nations has now been endangered by fertility decline, and the international communitys insistent call for gender equality is making the problem even worse. ******* According to Dr. Joseph Chamie, Director of the Population Division of the UNs Department of Economic and Social Affairs, A growing number of countries view their low birth rates with the resulting population decline and ageing to be a serious crisis, jeopardizing the basic foundations of the nation and threatening its survival. Economic growth and vitality, defense, and pensions and health care for the elderly, for example, are all areas of major concern. ******* Chamie, who was speaking in his personal capacity at the Population Association of Americas annual meeting, asserted that one-third of the countries in the world now have below replacement level fertility, which means that women have fewer than 2.1 children on average. In 15 countries, the fertility rate has shrunk to l.5 children or less. ******* In an unprecedented statement for a high-ranking UN official, Chamie claimed that the drive for gender equality is partly to blame for low fertility, stating that, While many governments, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations and individuals may strongly support gender equality at work and in the home as a fundamental principle and desirable goal, it is not at all evident how having men and women participate equally in employment, parenting and household responsibilities will raise low levels of fertility. On the contrary, the equal participation of men and women in the labor force, child rearing and housework points precisely in the opposite direction, i.e., below replacement fertility. And this is in fact precisely what is being observed today in an increasing number of countries. ******* Chamie also noted the some governments, especially in the developed world, may be concerned about appearing hypocritical if they seek to increase their own fertility rates, while at the same time working to decrease fertility in the developing world. According to Chamie, Understandably, governments are reluctant to be seen as encouraging citizens to breed for the sake of the country. This is especially true for governments providing international assistance to family planning programs in countries aiming to reduce their comparatively higher rates of fertility and population. ******* In his address, Chamie investigated the effectiveness of a number of governmental responses to fertility decline, including promoting marriage and childbearing, reducing the costs of child rearing, and adapting work schedules to family life. He was not optimistic concerning these policies, concluding that, the current and foreseeable efforts of most governments to raise their current low fertility rates to replacement levels seem highly unlikely. ******* Copyright 2004 C-FAM (Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute). The Post used Freedom of Information laws to obtain records from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which also revealed 21 other "life-threatening" conditions such as blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks. ******* The contraceptive, marketed by ads with super models and Olympic athletes, is touted as a sexy alternative to the Pill. The Ortho Evra patch's manufacturer, Ortho-McNeil, claims the patch is easier to remember than the pill because it requires only a once-weekly replacement, rather than the Pill's daily dose. ******* Doctors who reviewed the report were staggered by the numbers. "This is a cause for concern," NYU Medical Center gynecologist and professor Dr. John Quagliarello said. He said it was the first time he'd heard there was such a high death rate from the patch. ******* The Ortho Evra patch delivers a dose of contraceptive hormones into a woman's blood stream via the skin. These hormones can trigger fatal heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots. ******* Ortho-McNeil claims the death rate from its patch is "consistent with the health risks" of taking the Pill.
