Whatcott hopes to come to Prince Albert soon to collect several large signs he lost when he was arrested during an anti-abortion picket in the city in July 2002. ******* Whatcott, who was later convicted of obstructing a peace officer in relation to the incident, had the conviction overturned last week in Prince Albert Court of Queen's Bench. ******* In his ruling, Justice J. Kraus said Whatcott's right to free _expression was violated when he was arrested. Whatcott was arrested after refusing to stop showing the signs, some of which displayed photographs of an aborted third-trimester fetus. ******* Whatcott, executive director of the Christian Truth Activists organization, was one of several people picketing at the intersection of Second Avenue West and 15th Street during rush hour when police arrived. ******* Although other members of the group switched to less offensive signs at the police's request, Whatcott did not. "The police action was arbitrary, discriminatory and not clearly authorized by law such as can be demonstrated in a free and democratic society," Kraus said in his six-page decision. ******* "In my view, the preponderance of evidence shows that the police action was intended to, and did, directly restrict the content of the appellant's _expression." ******* Whatcott said the appeal decision is a win for his cause. He said the decision proves he has the right to peacefully display the "gruesome" anti-abortion photos. ******* "It's not something we were just doing to get a reaction, we were just trying to raise awareness," Whatcott said Tuesday from Alberta. ******* "I never did obstruct. I told the guy (police officer) it wasn't right to shut down our protest." ******* With the conviction overturned, Whatcott said he now wants to make an example of Prince Albert City Police. ******* Whatcott said he will sue the City Police for damages in relation to his arrest. ******* "Not that I have anything against Prince Albert police personally ... (but) you're the only town in all of Saskatchewan where I've been arrested three times," Whatcott said. ******* "We certainly want to ensure that the police are much more careful in the future if we come to Prince Albert ... That if we're not breaking any obvious law, that they allow us to protest." ******* City Police spokesman Al Fraser declined to comment Tuesday on Whatcott's lawsuit against the department. ******* During Whatcott's trial on the obstruction charge in July 2003, the Crown prosecutor argued City Police were justified in arresting Whatcott when he refused to stop showing the graphic signs to passing motorists. The Crown said the signs were a distraction for drivers. ******* A similar conviction against Whatcott was overturned in October 2002, when an appeal judge ruled Whatcott's rights to free _expression were also violated. ******* That incident related to a 2001 incident in Regina in which Whatcott was charged after distributing anti-abortion pamphlets in a University of Regina parking lot. ******************************************************************************************************** ******* item 2 THE NEWS FROM BILL WHATCOTT - by Bill Whatcott ******* February. 17/ 2005 ******* Dear Friends: ******* Today I appeared before a Justice of the Peace in Calgary to answer to the charge of "Trespassing on School Property." This charge was laid on me for distributing murdered baby flyers in the University of Calgary's parking lot. The flyers contained a clear Gospel message, exposure of Planned Parenthood Regina's evil, and exposure of babies being killed (after surviving abortion) at the Regina General Hospital. At any rate I pleaded not guilty to the charge. I am slated to go to trial 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August. 25/ 2005, at the provincial court, 230- 7th Ave SE, Calgary Alberta. I will be representing myself. On Friday, April. 29th, I was in Regina SK, and was able to visit my two girls, Mary Grace and Ruth Francis. It was hard seeing them, as they are attached to me, and I don't get to see them too often. Still it was nice to give them hugs and treat them to ice cream. Also on Friday, I was able to launch a strategic attack with my latest flyer titled, "Sodomites and the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission." This flyer was distributed in two neighbourhoods in central and south Regina. The Human Rights Commission building, Provincial Legislature, City Hall and University of Regina were also targeted with the flyer. I was also able to join a group of pro-life picketers at the Regina General Hospital. We were able to witness and share the gospel of life with the passerby. ******* Today Robert Hinchey, my wife Maria, and myself headed out to Morgantalar's abortuary in Edmonton, AB. Robert carried a "Life" sign with a new born baby on it. I carried an "Abortion" sign with a photo of a dismembered 22 week baby on it. Maria stayed in the vehicle and prayed for us. It was a good thing we had prayer support as the fury of hell was unleashed against us. Right after we prayed and displayed our signs, young teenagers started screaming and swearing at us. Cars driving by gave us middle fingers and screamed at us. Abortuary staff and patrons came out and made obscene gestures. I started preaching and debating with some of the teens who would listen. Everyone with only a couple of exceptions seemed to be pro-abortion today. ******* A man in his twenties picked up his girlfriend at the abortuary and drove to where Robert and I were standing. He started swearing at us for showing our signs and threatened us with physical violence. We told him it was our job before Almighty God to show the victim of abortion. The fellow lost his temper and got out of his pickup truck to attack Robert's sign. I pulled out a cell phone and called the police. When the mad fellow saw me calling the police he quit attacking Robert and took off. I told the police what happened and gave the license plate of the pickup truck. I was told I was a low priority and could wait for a police response. About ten minutes later a restaurant across the road from the abortuary sent their waitress to swear at us and call the police to get my signs off the street. About 5 minutes later a police officer on a bicycle showed up as well as three police cruisers. They were not aware I called the police after being attacked by a mad fellow whose girlfriend was at the abortuary. They were concerned about an abortuary complaint about my preaching and the restaurant's complaint about my signs. The police asked us to put away our signs or they would charge us with "Stunting." We refused to put away our signs. After witnessing to the police about the babies being killed at the abortuary a compromise was made and we moved two feet onto some grass and stood there to show our signs. The police left and eventually we left to go to an appointment and an Edmonton Pro-Life speaking engagement. ******* We listened to Dr. Phillopos talk about new born babies and how sometimes hard decisions have to be made when their conditions are critical and their prognosis is poor. After the lecture, Robert, Maria and myself got on the highway to head home. About twenty minutes in to our drive a loud bang ended our conversation and my passenger side window exploded. I immediately thought about my pro-life message on the vehicle and wondered if someone shot at us because of it.Robert was covered in glass, but fortunately no one was hurt. I drove about five hundred yards and then pulled over to find out what happened. We called the police again and told them what happened to our car. The police took our report over the phone and I observed the vehicle for damage. Fortunately no other damage or injury was noted other than my driver side window was completely blown out. Robert and Maria were shook up but unhurt. I wished in Canada we could carry handguns in our vehicles for self defense, but the truth of the matter is we have no idea what happened. The officer on the phone suggested a rock could have hit our car by accident. It's possible, we were driving at 65 miles and hour at night and we did not see where the projectile came from. We only heard a loud bang and then our window shattered. We found nothing in our van in the way of rock or fragments to know what hit us. Please pray for our protection and that I find a cheap window tomorrow. ******* On a positive note, I talked to a Pentecostal minister today. He joined us at Dr. Phillopos's lecture and he wants to join Robert and I on our next witness at Morgantalar's abortuary. Pray for God's blessing on Pastor Hostetter and his counseling ministry. Jason Wed, 08 Jun 2005 ******* Two thousand leaflets attacking gays and lesbians have put a Christian activist in western Canada under investigation by Edmonton police for hate crimes. ******* The flyers by Bill Whatcott of Regina refer to gay marriage as "sodomite marriage" and use graphic language to describe the alleged sex practices of homosexuals. ******* The handouts also used derogatory terms to describe federal Defence Minister Bill Graham. ******* Whatcott stuffed his pamphlets into mailboxes in the riding of Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan, and some recipients complained to police. "The material is offensive and it's an affront on the basic tenets of our society, which is about multiculturalism, tolerance and peaceful co-existence," Const. Steve Camp, of the Edmonton police hate crimes unit, said. ******* The Pride Centre of Edmonton said it would take the case to the Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission if no criminal charges arise from the police investigation. ******* Whatcott has led protests across Saskatchewan and Alberta against abortion and gays. ******* He says he was a gay prostitute until age 18 to pay for a drug habit, then became leader of a small group called the Christian Truth Activists. Last month, the Saskatchewan Human Rights Tribunal fined Whatcott $17,500 for handing out similar material. ******* But he has refused to pay the fine, calling the tribunal a "kangaroo court." ******* Whatcott doesn't sidestep responsibility – he prints his name and telephone number on his material – and he says he's had at least 50 angry callers. ******* But he says he won't stop because he has a right to free speech. I have been very busy. Tomorrow, Brother Robert Hinchey and myself are off to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to deliver 6,500 flyers. These flyers will be exposing the murder of babies at Saskatchewan's hospitals who survive their abortions and are killed afterwards. (For those of you who don't know: an RN testified under oath at the discipline hearing where I lost my nursing license and got a $15,000 fine that she helped murder babies after they were aborted. She also testified to witnessing Regina Planned Parenthood's Medical Director grabbing a newly aborted baby by the head and shaking it so hard she thought the head was going to seperate from the body.) ******* We will also be holding a graphic sign display exposing the abortion holocaust and Planned Parenthood at the University of Saskatchewan at 4:00 PM tomorrow. ******* As for my trial? It never happened. I hitchhiked to Calgary, and the Crown Attorney tried to encourage me to plead guilty and save the time and cost of the trial. He indicated it was obvious to everyone including the judge I trespassed on school property. I agreed I was on school property, but told him I had a Constitutional right to deliver my anti-abortion/anti Planned Parenthood message at public universities. The Crown Attorney then asked if I was using the Charter (Canada's constitution) for my defense. I told him I was. The Crown Attorney then told the judge my trial had to be moved to a higher court as the municipal court I was in did not have authority to hear Charter cases. The judge agreed and I now have to go back to court in Calgary on January. 9/2006. Pray that I somehow find a pro-bono lawyer as I can't afford a regular one. This case is getting too complicated for me and I think it is important for all pro-lifers and ultimately the babies that I win. An American pastor has been kind enough to send me some American lawyer referral numbers. The election date for Canada's Federal Election is January 23/ 2006. For those who follow my work you know over the past 6 months I have distributed a series of flyers exposing Anne McLellan's hard core, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-pedophile, anti-family, voting record and activism. I know I can't change the world, but seeing as I can easily operate in McLellan's riding I can make a difference there. ******* Watching the media coverage on all of Canada's major networks tells me my flyers are needed. Life and family issues for the most part are not even being brought up. Pro-life papers are covering the issue, but they only go to a very tiny percentage of people who care about the issue and make an informed vote anyways. ******* "Same sex marriage" (I prefer sodomite pseudo marriage) is mentioned in the media as a "settled issue." Abortion is not being brought up at all. Our age of consent law (affirmed by Parliament 3 months ago) is getting no coverage either. The beauty of my flyers is all of these issues are being brought to Anne McLellan's constituents attention. I estimate I have leafleted at least half of McLellan's riding and about a quarter of her riding I have leafleted more than once. Some of these people have not had a flyer for a few months now and I would like to put out this one last flyer before voting day. The beauty of this flyer is it is concise and graphic. It is coming at a time when the election is on everyone's mind and close enough to election day that it will be "a fresh issue" when the voter goes to the ballot box. ******* Please prayerfully consider supporting this flyer either with time (if you live close to McLellan's riding) or with money. Actually money is the most important. I never raise enough money in this forum to fully cover the cost of a flyer (sometimes I raise nothing). I have just started working for a Christian retailer who doesn't mind my criminal record or activism but I am not exactly making top wages. If someone out there doesn't see the worthiness of this flyer I won't need volunteers as I don't have enough money of my own to print the thousands of flyers I am accustomed to printing. On the other hand this battle is God's and I am only a most unworthy servant. I currently have four outstanding lawsuits and judgements of various types in Saskatchewan, this will be my first in Alberta. Maybe if I distribute some flyers in British Columbia I could reach six and at some point call Guiness as I must be reaching the status of most sued person by now. ******* I am not too sure on who's behalf the process servers are trying to serve me. The new Edmonton Police Chief Mike Boyd probably wasn't thrilled with my flyer "Sodomites and Edmonton's new Chief of Police." Ex Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan, might be another possibility as she never succeeded (though she tried) in getting me charged with a hate crime during my capaign of exposing her during her campaign of trying to get re-elected. The sodomites might be trying to sue me through the Alberta Human Rights Commission. Tomorrow, Friday, February 17, a hearing will be held at Regina's Court of Queen's bench regarding my appeal of the suspension of my nursing license and order to pay $15,000 damages to SALPN (Saskatchewan Licensed Praactical Nurses Association). For those of you who don't know this appeal is in relation to my ministry activities in 2002. My self and a few activists peacefully picketed Regina Planned Parenthood during my time off work. We denounced their practices of referring teenaged and even pre teenaged girls for abortions without parental consent. We also condemned their practices of chemical baby killing with Morning After Pills, their promotion of fornication and of the sodomite agenda. For these alleged "professional misconducts" I was stripped of my nursing license and fined $15,000. Please pray for God's grace to be with my lawyer Tom Schuck tomorrow. ******* On Friday, July. 14th, my trial will be held in the Calgary Provincial Court at 2:00 PM, 323 6th Ave SE, courtroom #205. Bill Whatcott was fined and suspended from nursing in 2002 after picketing Planned Parenthood Regina. The organization counsels women about sexual health, contraception and abortion. Whatcott said those practices kill babies and cause AIDS. The Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses suspended him for making false statements. ******* In court Friday, Whatcott's lawyer Thomas Schuck argued that public debate around sexual politics should not be grounds for suspension. Whatcott has led protests across Saskatchewan and Alberta against abortion and gays and has been fined by a Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission tribunal for distributing offensive leaflets. ******* Schuck said the nurses association disciplined Whatcott because they disagree with his beliefs. However, the licenced practical nurses association said that's not true. Whatcott was not working as a nurse when he made the controversial remarks. However, the association's lawyer Merrilee Rasmussen said it's inappropriate for a nurse to say such things at any time. During the 1990's I became a pen pal and supporter of a man named David Lane. He was sentenced to 18 years in a U.S prison for damaging abortion clinic property with a sledge hammer. ******* No one was injured in his effort to destroy the abortuary and in his view save innocent lives, so the sentence was certainly political and extreme, given that in the state of Colorado a similar act of vandalism carried out on a school or a private home probably would have only netted Mr. Lane 90 days in a country bucket. ******* Some prominant pro-life leaders in the United States committed acts of abortion clinic vandalism in an effort to protect unborn life. Joan Andrews received a five year prison sentence in the State of Florida for destroying a suction machine used to kill babies in an abortion clinic that she and a group of pro-lifers were blockading. Joan Andrew is a devout Catholic and a leader to this day in America's pro-life movement. ******* In Canada I know a creative fellow who snook into a B.C hospital in the 1990's. He stole a suction machine, wheeled it out of the hospital and after dismanteling it, he turned it into a library for books! ******* These men and women by and large have conservative world views. They are evangelical Christians and Roman Catholics. Is their actions justifiable, given that what they did was illegal and they are destroying property that does not belong to them? ******* I would argue from a moral point of view what they have done is justifiable and even praiseworthy. The life of an unborn child is worth infinitely more than the pieces of equipment used to kill them. ******* Abortion clinics while legal are not moral. Their sole purpose is to destroy innocent life, hence laws protecting their existance are not moral laws and should not be obeyed. Operation Rescue and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America have released statistics which found as many as 25 % of women scheduled to destroy their babies did not reschedule appointments after encountering an abortion clinic blockade on the day of their appointment. Would the children of these mothers condemn the rescuers who saved their lives as extremists or criminals for illegally shutting down the clinic where they were to be killed? ******* Christianity does have a history of civil disobedience and extreme actions in the face of injustice. The judge Gideon in the Bible vandalized the alter of Baal, Judges 6:25 - 31. The people of his town wanted to kill him for this crime but God rescued Gideon and used him to free the Israelites from Midianite occupation. ******* Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ became quite physical with other people's property and overturned the tables of money changers and sellers of doves, see Matthew 21. ******* Christians occassionally blew up and vandalized railway lines used to transport Jews to death camps in Nazi occupied Europe. Abolitionists in the southern United States risked imprisonment and in some cases excommunication to help slaves flee the plantations where they were forced to work to become free human beings. ******* With such a history and cloud of witnesses why are pro-life Canadians so timid and unwilling to do anything beyond life chains and the odd letter to parliament to advocate on behalf of the weak and innocent who are perishing in our midst? ******* It is my view those MPs in the Conservative Party of Canada who believe human life begins at conception and is worthy of legal protection should endorse rather than condemn those who choose to break unjust laws and vandalize abortion clinic property in the defense of innocent human life. The suspension is running indefinately until I pay the $15,000 fine. ******* Sincerely Bill Whatcott ******* Judge dismisses Whatcott's appeal ******* The Leader-Post, Wednesday, July 19, 2006 ******* A Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench judge has dismissed an appeal by an outspoken activist who had asked his suspended nursing licence be re-instated. ******* Bill Whatcott, well known for his public protests against abortion and homosexuality, had appealed a January 2005 decision by the discipline committee of the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses. ******* The committee had found former Regina-based nurse Whatcott guilty of unprofessional conduct, resulting in a 45-day suspension of his licence and an order to pay $15,000 to help cover the association's investigation and legal costs. ******* Whatcott had picketed in front of a Planned Parenthood Regina location on several days in 2002 and 2003, and according to the SALPN, intimidated a number of patients and staff members. ******* He has since moved to Alberta. ******* At the hearing, the SALPN said while picketing in and of itself is not wrong, Whatcott's conduct during the protest -- such as intimidating patients and making untrue statements about Planned Parenthood Regina -- was wrong. Whatcott argued he is free to express his point of view and that he should not be found guilty because he was not "on the job" at the time of the protest. ******* The discipline committee agreed with the view of the SALPN. Whatcott appealed, claiming infringement on his freedom of _expression and arguing the committee had incorrectly concluded that he was "acting in his professional capacity while picketing." ******* But in a written decision handed down Tuesday, Justice Ron Barclay said Whatcott, during the protest, was in breach of a SALPN bylaw governing professional conduct. ******* "Even though the appellant was off duty while these acts occurred, his actions caused harm to the patients of the Planned Parenthood centre which provides health services to the community," wrote Barclay. A former juvenile delinquent, the now Christian nurse has been a pro-life gadfly in Saskatchewan for over a decade, beating a rap for displaying abortion pictures in rush-hour traffic, but having his nursing licence suspended for picketing Planned Parenthood. Recently, he annoyed Regina�s gay community; protesting a taxpayer-funded film festival at the Regina Public Library that included movies of lesbians raping underage girls. ******* Whatcott�s exploits caught up with him when he handed out flyers, revealing that Saskatchewan�s leading gay magazine, Perceptions, had published an advertisement for a man seeking a relationship with a boy. Whatcott distributed his flyers with the photocopied ad in Regina and Saskatoon, warning that the magazine was freely available to children in public libraries. ******* �I put very little of my own commentary. The ads spoke for themselves. For that I was fined��in total, $17,500, Whatcott says. And, ironically, more was read into his flyers than was actually there, he says. �I�ve never said all homosexuals are pedophiles. That�s simply not true. But certainly I wanted to show what Saskatchewan�s largest homosexual magazine was up to.� Four recipients of Whatcott�s flyer saw things differently, however, and complained to the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, with three of them subsequently netting $5,000 each and the fourth $2,500, to assuage their hurt feelings. ******* �I won�t submit to your order and sell out Saskatchewan�s children to placate your political correctness. Whatcott distributed 3,500 photocopies across Saskatchewan. ******* Feelings are a valuable commodity at the SHRC. Last January, Regina cabbie Kuldip Singh Sahota told wheelchair-bound Mark Scott, a potential customer, that his van was a bad choice, since its high sill made it hard to load heavy wheelchairs. Sahota then radioed his dispatcher to send a lift-equipped van. ******* But instead of waiting for that ride, Scott found a stronger driver and promptly lodged an SHRC complaint. Last month, the SHR tribunal ordered Sahota to pay $2,500 for Scott�s �hurt feelings,� plus $1,000 for his legal costs and $3,000 for the SHRC�s costs. Sahota maintains that wheelchair passengers have never used his van, due to its height. But SHRC lawyer Milton Woodard refused to consider other factors: �The question of fact is: did Mr. Sahota deny Mr. Scott the opportunity to use his cab because of his wheelchair or not?� he said; and hurt feelings were trump. ******* Whatcott�s lawyer, Tom Schuck, says the SHRC goes too far. His client�s right to free speech is being trampled because his flyers condemned actions, not orientation. �It�s one thing to say that there is protection for orientation; it�s quite another to say that their conduct is all protected,� he says. Schuck points out that, following the SHRC�s logic, one could not criticize a man for cheating on his wife for fear of hurting his feelings. ******* But SHRC lawyer Janice Gingell disagreed. �Sexual orientation is a protected category under the code, and you are not allowed to say things that will cause other people to feel hatred or ridicule or belittlement towards members of those protected categories,� she said after the hearing. But apparently films and ads degrading children don�t fall under the same moral scrutiny. ******* �I don�t think the majority of Canadians understand what these human rights commissions are doing and the agenda they are pushing,� Whatcott says. �Part of my strategy is to make people aware of what this thing is and to hold it in contempt, because they are contemptible and they don�t operate by a good standard of evidence. They�re ideologically driven. They wield a lot of power, and they are shaping Canadian society and telling Canadians what is debatable and what isn�t.� ******* If Whatcott remains stuck with paying $17,500 to his gay complainants, then the truth apparently hurts in Saskatchewan. His case is currently under appeal, but the court may back the SHRC. Corrections Canada was not exactly raising moral objections around 2002 to the pseudo medicine. In fact they were quite pro-homosexual 5 years ago. The concerns Corrections Canada expressed is they allowed the procedure on a few inmates already and stopped doing it as a few of the guys decided once they were mutilated for life they did not want to be women any more and were quite distraught as they couldn't undo what they allowed to happen to them. One inmate who was sent to a woman's prison once he started his hormone therapy and was described as being "advanced" in his journey to becoming a woman, but still didn't lose his penis yet, started having sex with female inmates upon arrival. A 12-year-old German boy who began receiving puberty-blocking hormone treatments last winter in preparation for sex-change �transition� surgery was believed to be the youngest child to receive the treatment at the time. ******* The Boston clinic will reportedly offer the treatments to children as young as seven-years old, according to researcher Ari Taube for MassResistance. ******* Hormone treatment of pre-pubescent children is intended to prevent normal development of gender characterization in order to ease eventual surgical procedures to complete a change of gender, which can take place once the child is about 16. ******* On a MassResistance radio report, Taube emphasized that transgender procedures can only achieve the outward appearance of the opposite gender. ******* �It�s important to point out that simply because one undergoes mutilating surgery and decides to administer to themselves the hormone of the opposite gender, doesn�t actually make you that gender. It is surgery but it doesn�t actually turn a girl into a boy. The chromosomal differences remain.� ******* Dr. Spack has acknowledged in the past that only about 20 percent of children who express gender confusion continue to express that confusion throughout adulthood, Taube pointed out. ******* �You�re giving authority to a seven-, eight-, or nine-year old to determine what gender they want to display.� ******* The treatments are an experimental procedure using hormones that can cause an alarming list of adverse effects, including spasms and bloody mucus from the nose, Taube stated. Estrogen treatments increase the risk for later development of breast cancer, and taking hormones of the opposite sex render transgender teens infertile.
