As of this date, 06-11-20, this folder contains 3 items. ******* item 1 BELGIAN CARDINAL CALLS PRO-ABORTION "CATHOLIC" GROUP DEPLORABLE ******* item 2 NEW EXPOSE ON "CATHOLICS' FOR A FREE CHOICE NOW AVAILABLE ******* item 3 ANNAN APPROVES UNPRECEDENTED UN PUBLICATION OF NGO ANTI-VATICAN DOCUMENT ******************************************************************************************************************* ******* item 1 BELGIAN CARDINAL CALLS PRO-ABORTION "CATHOLIC" GROUP DEPLORABLE ******* Note: "Catholics for a Free Choice" is an anti-Catholic organization ******* Date: Tue, 20 Jul 2004 13:12:28 -0700 ******* From: "Austin Ruse -- Culture of Life Foundation" ******* Dear Colleague, ******* Frances Kissling and her colleagues at Catholics for a Free Choice are having kind of a bad summer. First, the General Assembly unanimously ignored CFFC demands by endorsing and expanding the role of the Vatican at the UN. Then, as we report today, a Belgian archbishop, whom CFFC wanted to co-opt for its frankly weird condom campaign, has instead called the anti-Catholic group deplorable. ******* Spread the word. ******* Yours sincerely, Austin Ruse, President, Culture of Life Foundation ******* Action item: Pray right now for all those attached to Catholics for a Free Choice. Pray specifically for Frances Kissling. She would be a great spokesperson for the Church! ********************************************************************************************************* ******* item 2 NEW EXPOSE ON "CATHOLICS' FOR A FREE CHOICE NOW AVAILABLE ******* From: "Austin Ruse -- C-FAM" < [email protected]> via Gerry Maingot and John Hof ******* Sent: Friday, December 07, 2001 ******* Dear Colleague, ******* I am very pleased to make two announcements. First, the creation of a new C-FAM think-tank, the John Paul II Center for the Study of International Organizations. Second, the John Paul II Center's first White Paper, an expose on "Catholics" for a Free Choice, which you can purchase today. ******* We have founded the John Paul II Center for the Study of International Organizations in order to research and write about organizations that are a direct threat to the Church, the family and the unborn. The John Paul IICenter will focus its attention on a variety of organizational types. We will investigate non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Catholics for a Free Choice and International Planned Parenthood Federation. These organizations work in close conjunction with UN agencies and national governments and often receive substantial funding to act as their surrogates. ******* The John Paul II Center will investigate UN agencies like the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) and the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), evaluating the propriety of their goals and methods, as well as their general influence and effectiveness. It will examine international organizations such as the World Bank and the World Health Organization, agencies that are only indirectly linked to the UN, but that, we believe, play a significant role in international efforts to attack the Church, the family and the unborn. ******* And, finally, the John Paul II Center will look deeply into the large engines of money that fund these attacks, like the Turner Foundation, the Gates Foundation, Ford and Rockefeller, Hewlett and Packard and many others. ******* FIRST ISSUE OF WHITE PAPER SERIES AVAILABLE NOW ******* The White Paper Series published by the John Paul II Center will adhere to the highest standards of academic scholarship. There will be no conjecture, no rhetoric, no rumor, only sober, moderate analysis. The White Papers will always be fully objective, lest they distort the objective truths they seek to defend. ******* This first White Paper, "War on the Faith: How Catholics for a Free Choice Seeks to Undermine the Catholic Church" looks closely at Catholics for a Free Choice, a group granted frequent access to the major media in order to criticize the Church hierarchy and Church doctrine, but whose claims, funding and ultimate goals remain almost completely unexamined. ******* In this paper, Dr. Thomas Woods (Harvard, Columbia) has made some astounding findings. Dr. Woods has shown that CFFC members do not simply embrace a Culture of Death, but advocate an explicit theology of death. ******* Some of the most gripping and disturbing passages of the paper explore CFFC attempts to elevate abortion into a liturgical and sacramental event. ******* While members of CFFC ridicule the seven Catholic sacraments, they believe that abortion best communicates a woman's power and divinity, and thus deserves the status of a sacrament. ******* Dr. Woods has carefully exposed the truly radical nature of the Catholic "reforms" CFFC members seek. One reform would entail convincing Catholics to pray to goddesses like Athena and Gaia, rather than to Mary. Other reforms would include teaching Catholics that individuals need not be redeemed from sin; that morality is relative to the individual, and sexual morality is determined by what feels good; that the earth is divine; that Catholicism must incorporate elements of other religions; and that transubstantiation is nonsense. ******* Dr. Woods has shown how CFFC attempts to infiltrate the Church and transform it from within. CFFC agitates for women priests so that CFFC members - and others who share their beliefs - can preach from the very pulpits of churches. CFFC considers a priesthood open to women to be the most significant step towards a polytheistic and druidical Catholic Church. ******* From this paper, it must be concluded that CFFC seeks to destroy the Church, not reform it. Thus, dialogue with CFFC members is more than futile, it is potentially dangerous to both the institution of the Church and to individual members of the Church. ******* This paper will be invaluable for all those who seek to defend the Church against the attacks of "Catholics" for a Free Choice. This paper is ideal for clergy and laity alike. You can use this expose in order to fight them within the Church and also in the public arena. "War on the Faith" will provide you with the ammunition you have been wanting to fight this diablical organization. ******* This is the most thorough report to date on "Catholics" for a Free Choice. ******* HOW TO ORDER ******* To receive your copy of "War on the Faith: How Catholics for a Free Choice Seek to Undermine the Catholic Church" send $20 by check or money order to Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute 866 UN Plaza, Suite 427 New York, New York 10017 ******* You may also order by credit card simply by using email. ******* We accept Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. ******* Orders outside the US must include $2 for shipping and handling. ******* Order this invaluable research report today. And then share it with your Pastor and your Bishop! ******* Yours sincerely, Austin Ruse, President, Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute ******* Douglas A. Sylva, Director, John Paul II Center for the Study of International Organizations ********************************************************************************************************* ******* item 3 ANNAN APPROVES UNPRECEDENTED UN PUBLICATION OF NGO ANTI-VATICAN DOCUMENT - Front Organization for Powerful US Anti-Catholic Foundations Strikes Again ******* From: "LifeSite News" via ******* Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 ******* UNITED NATIONS, April 2, 2002 (LSN.ca) - In anticipation of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development (CPD) meeting being held this week in New York, the UN published a Catholic bashing document by Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC). LifeSite obtained a copy of an official UN Economic and Social Council (ESC) release of the CFFC statement which notes the CFFC is a "non-governmental organization (NGO) in special consultative status" with the ESC. ******* The release says the "Secretary-General has received" the statement and circulated it. The dissemination of the document is unprecedented, according to UN insiders who spoke with LifeSite, in that it allows an NGO to directly attack a state with status at the UN. The document also contains falsehoods which misrepresent the Catholic faith. ******* The document published February 20 repeats the CFFC postercampaign accusations that the Catholic Church's teachings against artificial contraception and condoms specifically "condemn ... [people] to death." The document claims a majority of Catholics support contraception and abortion. ******* The document says falsely that "The Holy See's 'prohibition' on abortion and contraception and the use of condoms ... is not subject to papal infallibility and Catholics are free to disagree with these institutional positions." In fact, Catholic teaching notes that when the pope speaks on matters of faith and morals, which obviously include teachings on abortion and contraception, he is infallible. ******* The front organization for powerful U.S. anti-Catholic foundations recommends the CPD "provide data on the effect that denying information about and provision of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS has on contributing to the spread of the disease." Mark DeYoung, Director of the North American Region of the World Youth Alliance, told LifeSite the CFFC recommendation is made in order to exploit a known issue of contention between UN leaders and the Holy See. "It is a ploy to intimidate the Holy See and to encourage member countries to oppose the Holy See on these issues," he said. *********************************************************************************************************
