| The Pond - Still a work in progress at the time this picture was taken as the finishing touches to the fence and far end garden need to be completed, where, apart from the Acer on the left the other greenery is weed growth. The pond construction is based on a 12" reinforced concrete base with walls made from 9' concrete block which is cement rendered and fibre glassed in black finish which finish above ground level where they are faced with varnished lengths of bamboo. The pond bottom has 12" benching around all four sides sloping to the aerated bottom drains of which there are two. All four corners are rounded below the surface level from where eight subwater pipes return the water to the pond from the filters in a clockwise direction. The pond dimensions are approx. 16 ft x 11 ft and is 7ft 3 inches deep at the bottom drains. |
