Soft Pale Blue Mittens, Scarf and Hat Set

This is a set that I made with two really soft yarns. I found the one, softer yarn randomly one day, and just couldn't resist it because it looked so fun with the beads throughout. I then got the plain wool yarn to go with it, initially unsure of what I'd make with it but pretty sure I'd make a scarf.

Then I came up with a pattern idea for the scarf and dove right in. The two blues are very close but not 100% identical, so I thought that striping them together would even things out, and I am thrilled with the result. I simply worked the scarf in K2P2 ribbing, and I alternated yarns every two rows. This made things easy as I never had to cut yarn and just carried the yarn up the side. The wool is very soft on its own, but the combination of these two yarns has resulted in a decadently soft and cuddly scarf!

For the mittens, I used my favorite Pop-Up Paws pattern which always works well for me.

More recently, I added the hat to the set. It was a fun and quick knit which I'd recommend to anyone! (Click on the photos to see them at full size.)
