| The v4.0 Player's Guide was adopted for general use by the Circle of Steel on April 18, 2009, at the Midreign Celebration of Aran Nawguthion II. The CoS also authorized a transition period until May 30 to get used to the new rules. After that time, v3 will be retired and v4 becomes the core rulebook for the kingdom. Changes made in v4.0 Here is a summary of the major differences between v3.0 and v4.0. Be warned, there are a multitude of minor changes that may affect how you play. All players are advised to refresh themselves to prevent confusions. * All levels and abilities are included for the standard and chivalric classes. * Class garb requirements were removed. * Red and White Belt description changed from 50% to 75%. * Clarified Barbarian Relic restriction . * Powerful Blows renamed Savage Might . * Healer armor availability restructured. * Thrown Weapons rewritten and clarified. * Removed Siege Engines rules (expanded rules will be in a supplement). * Added White Weapon description . * Clarified Arrow standards . * Combined Padded and Quilted armor into a single type. * Redefined and simplified Chainmail variants. * Removed Gambeson armor bonus . * Added and expanded Relic rules. * Clarified spellball multicasting. * Clarified timing in spell incantations. * Lich is now a Neutral spell . * Neutral School renamed Static School to reduce confusion. * Players in Nirvana may be targeted by some Spirit Magics. * Summoned Monster descriptions added.
