Felicity's Nightmare
Part VIII
Felicity stumbled on the dirt trying to keep up. "You promised!" she said as he kept walking ahead. "We have business to settle. Go back home where it's safe." he replied. "Derrick! Wait up. I'm coming with you!" she said, trying to catch her breath. The night was clear, drunken hobos already heard in the distance. "Fine but you go at your own risk." he said, still waiting ahead. "Derrick! What's gotten into to you?" Feli asked sadly. He stopped and turned to her. "I'm sorry, I just want to get this over and done with so we can get on with our lives." he said, walking towards her. He brushed his hand over her cheek and she kissed it softly. "Then let's go see her and get it done with already." she said softly. He smiled as he held her hand and continued to walk down the dirt path. "So what business do you hav..." was all Feli got out before she fell to the ground, shards of glass littering her hair.
Felicity woke up with a pounding headache in a dark, humid box. Her hands were tied behind her back. "Derrick?" she yelled. She could hear muffled talking, a female and a male. The male yelled back to her, a soft "Feli!" falling to her captive ears. "Derrick!!!" she screamed, rocking around violently. The lid of the box opened and Feli looked up. Way up. Dirt surrounded her for about a metre where a woman stood, smirking. "You are far away from home Felicity Maynard. You should have stayed there." she said coldly. "Tiffani?" Feli asked, the words almost getting caught in her throat. "Yes?" she asked, walking away from view. "Tiffani! Oh it's you. Can you help me get out of here?" Feli said, struggling with the binds. A laughter came from above and Tiffani came back into view. "What would have been the purpose of putting you there if I was just going to release you?" she laughed manically. A cold sweat broke out on Feli's face. "But I'm your sister. Your own flesh and blood! You can't do this to me!" she whined, her hands writhing with the ropes more urgently now. "No? I think you are mistaken, sister dear. You see you stole something very important to me. Ever since I was forced into exile I've been waiting for you to come to me. And here you are laying helplessly at my fingertips." Tiffani said, all the old anger from years ago boiling up inside her ready to explode. "Felicity! Tiff don't do it!" Feli could hear Derrick yell out. Tiffani pulled out a bag and untied it in such a way that Feli could watch her movements. "Are you going to beg for your life?" Tiffani asked, her shadow falling over Feli as she bent down. "What?" Feli gulped. "Jaslim did." Tiffani said before standing up in a fit of sadistical laughter. Feli felt a cotton pouch fall onto her feet and the wooden lid replaced, her world wrapped in darkness once more.
Loud sounds banged on the outside of the box. It took a few moments before Feli knew what it was. Dirt. She was being buried alive. She rocked and screamed on the top of her lungs. A soft hissing sound made her freeze, the dirt still being piled on. Only then she remembered the bag. Something scaly slithered over her leg while several legs crawled over the other. She wasn't alone. Derrick's screams of pain just barely reached her ears and only then did she weep. She was going to die, whether it be by scorpion sting, snake bite or suffocation. However she looked at it, she knew she was doomed to die a slow and painful death. With whatever strength she had left in her, she whispered silent prayers to Athlendyr to help get her and her lover out in some form of a miracle.
