Scout II Restoration
Well its been a WHILE but I have new information to bring you. See that pic? Thats whats left of the 1978 Yellow Scout II I purchased. Told ya I stripped it. See that Green 1976 behind it? Yes indeedy do, I bought ANOTHER one. That one will mostly remain stock, for use as a beater work truck, cause lefts face it a Scout is a HELL of a beater truck.

The official name of the Red '73 is now Lazerus, but its mostly known as "the red scout". You can just make it out through the limbs there, to see it nosed up in front of the shop, thats right kids. The Dean Family Monster Garage got fired up again.

We completely removed the front clip of the scout, removed the 258 6-cyl engine and T-18 manual tranny. In its place we dropped an Internation 345 engine, with the Torqueflight 727 behind it. It sounds niiice in there too. While we had the clip off, I wirebrushed the entire thing, and primed the undersides of the metal. Inside the fenders, the innerfenders, radiator mounts, everthing, then after it got coated with rust kill, and primed, it got a coat of semi-gloss black paint.
The passenger side of the tub got the same treatment, I got tired of opening the door and getting assaulted with the color of rust.

The bumper I designed is built and mounted on the back. Simple subdued and strong.

Still working on the transmission, the shifter is frozen, but we have the tools and the talent. Not to mention a huge damn hammer.

UPDATE! Ordered a new shifter and cable, putting them in this weekend! Front clip is back on and the engine runs fiiiiine.
