| Well maybe, but I don't think so. Anyway, I was talking about me and computers. I got into chatting through CB on Compu$erve. Sort of like modern chat rooms, but there were only 20 rooms open for the entire nation. Maybe 20 people in each room. I guess this is where I developed my speed reading talent, I was able to keep up with the 120 characters per second the modem would spit out, but I was overwhelmed at 240. This is also where I started develpoing my first hacking experieince. Lots of people have "boots" for their particular chat room, we did it the OLD way, in 1988. Basically there were three of us who would send private messages to the offending person, and I had (handwritten) scripts to do it in Procomm, so we ended up flooding the person and dropping their connection. I also got into car audio in a big way, I never had the money to do an fully rigged install, but mine was always a crowd pleaser and very clear. I think the wildest I ever went was a Punch 15" and two Infinity 10"s in a custom box. I did all my own installation, that way, I knew what went wrong with it. At the peak of perfection, I had a Sherwood tape deck, an Alpine 3312 (still got it) EQ, a Sony 25x4 amp to run the 3.5 in the dash and the 4x10 in the rear and a Crutchfield 50x4 (bridged to 100x2) firing either 2 8"s in a Bazooka tube or two MTX 10"s in the original fuzzy box. A deep cycle Marine battery (800 cold cranking amps) was needed (this was before stiffing caps were common) to keep the charging system for dimming the headlights on the good bass notes. The alternator would still drag the motor down at idle when I had the system up. I joined the Marines in my senior year, on Delayed Entry to become an Aviation Electrician for C-130 Cargo planes. |

| I went to basic on March 11th 1991. My parents waved goodbye as I was hauled off in a 15 passenger cargo van. The Marines wasn't a bad thing, I really enjoyed it. I went to Iceland, Spain, Egypt, Canada and Mexico in my travels. I've decided that if/when I get rich, my summer home will be in Iceland, its fabulous there. I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, by way of Memphis and Los Angeles for electronics schools. | ||||||||||||||

| I partied hard, I developed a bit of a drinking problem. And I thought I was lonely, I wanted someone to love. Mary came along (my future wife) and partied and we went out for a while before she was discharged from the Marines. We moved in together after she had Gloria (my step-daughter) and lived off base in a small apartment. We were married on Oct 7th 1995. We are now divorced as of January 27th 2003, but we had been seperated since July 15th 2001. In that time period, I went from line worker of planes, to shop supervisor and eventually was picked to be an instructor for Aviation Electricians. I was gooooood, and I knew it. I got out of the Marines in 1999, (actually I was denied reenlistment, based on the fact I was ONE pound over wieght) and went to work at Siemens AT as a production line manager. We moved to the Gainesville area and bought a trailer. After making a go of living with two women who I wanted as wives (Mary and Amy, we were all three lovers) I was slowly shut out of my own life my those two, and my drinking. It was just a dangerous spiral, that had me hit bottom on Halloween 2000, when I attempted suicide, after my wife and girlfriend told me they didn't want me around anymore. They left in December of 2000 and lived in Kentucky, with our children, for a bit before returning near where I lived and got an apartment. We had another attempt at living together and getting along in June of 2001, but I quickly saw things were going the same way they were before and I left in July of 2001. I've meandered around the country since then and now I'm right back where I started, in Camden Alabama. I have a good job and I have my children, thats all I need at this point in my life. |
