Process Paper

Going through a National Geographic issue, I saw an article entitled Weapons of Mass Destruction.  One section in this article was about a place in Japan called Unit 731, and I got interested.  Soon after, I decided to make it the subject of my History Day project.  However, I did not really know what I was looking for, and I was delayed for a long time.  Then, once when I searched on the internet, I found a link that told me exactly what I was looking for, and gave me better keywords than World War II and Japan. I soon found dozens more sites on the internet, but did not know at the time what to look for in books since most stores had titles that were out of print and unavailable.  I looked at the library and found several books.  However, none even mentioned the topic.  Looking under another keyword, I found a few and got those instead.
At www.geocities.com, I registered for a site, and soon after started inputing my information.  However, I still had a problem, and that was how to find someone to interview.  This was very difficult, since not many people knew about a project that the U.S. had attempted to cover up several years ago.  Other people suggested contacting a peoples rights organization, but I didnt know where to find any phone numbers.  Instead, I went to National Geographic online and emailed them asking for an interview.   They responded soon after, referring me to a website of a man who wrote about my topic.  I asked the webmaster there, and he agreed, although wondering how I got the URL for his site that had been replaced a year before.  I put the rest of my information in my website, and so it was finished.  My topic is focused on General Shiro Ishiis career in Japan.  This is related to the rights and responsibilities theme through how he abused the rights of a person to their own life, and how the responsibilities of a citizens country to protect those rights were forgotten.
