| Strays live a hard 1-2 years on the streets. They are used as bait in dog fights, tortured, maliciously killed, starved, beaten, poisoned and most wind up the shelters even if they survive the streets. Please, spay, neuter and vaccinate your pet. If you have to give them up for adoption, place a free ad on Petfinder.com, screen and make the potential new home sign an adoption agreement. Stay in contact for the first year or so. Once, they leave your loving arms, you have no control over their fate. Think twice about bringing home a new pet. Cats live 18-20 years. Don't buy from cat/dog mills or pet stores. There are already plenty of beautiful, loving, trained, already spayed/neutered, vaccinated animals at shelters. Please give them a new lease on life. Donate food, money, supplies or your time to rescue groups. They need it so bad. "Never assume that somebody else will take care of it." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
