BUU SAGA

Seven years later, Trunks from the future has gone back to his time, the present time's Trunks has grown to be 7 years old, and Bulma and Vegeta have settled down. However, the peace will not last. A powerful magician named Babi-Di, and an amazingly strong monster named Buu emerge, and the Z Warriors, along with Goku and Vegeta, are forced to fight. This is another important scene for Vegeta's personality, finally uncovering the goodness in him. After basically "selling his soul" to Buu so he can become Majin Vegeta, he battles with Goku, finally on Goku's level. However, Vegeta takes a cheap shot on Goku during a break, and leaves him there, unconscious, knowing that Goku would stop him from doing what he's about to do. He heads for Buu and Babi-Di, turning on his new "master," and fights, albeit he stands no chance. After hugging his son good-bye, and knocking both Trunks and Goten out cold so they won't get hurt. After talking shortly with Piccolo, he tells the Namek warrior to take the kids and get away. Then, he flies up into the air. He powers up momentarily. "Goodbye Bulma...Trunks....and you, too, Kakkorotto..." he thinks to himself right before he begins his Kamikaze attack. He blows Buu into millions of pieces. Then, slowly, he topples over and falls to the ground below, shattering when he impacts. However, Buu regenerates himself, and Vegeta's sacrifice was all in vain. The gods of the afterlife, recognizing the threat caused by Buu, send Vegeta to fight him. Vegeta, knowing perfectly well he'll be killed, goes to Earth anyway with a smirk on his face. At least he'll get a last, good fight. However, upon arriving, Goku appears with fusion earrings. Goku suggests that Vegeta fuses with him. However, Vegeta won't do it. Goku held back the fact that he could go SSJ3 in the fight earlier when Vegeta was a Majin. This insults Vegeta, and, needless to say, pisses him off. However, Goku persuades Vegeta to fuse with him, and Vegeta skeptically puts on the earring. Together, Vegeta and Goku form Vegetto, the strongest character in all of Dragon Ball. After kicking Buu around for a while, he allows himself to be absorbed so he can rescue Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks, all of which whom were absorbed to make Buu stronger. However, they also find the Fat Buu in there, and free him too. After escaping, the newest, most powerful, evil, and heartless form of Evil Buu yet, destroys the Earth. However, with the help of Kaioushin, Vegeta, Goku, Mr. Satan, Beh (Fat Buu's dog), Dende, and Fat Buu escape to his Holy Sphere. However, Goten, Gohan, Trunks, and Piccolo are left on Earth. Up on Kaioushin's planet, the group watches in terror as Evil Buu gathers himself together in the middle of space, then, using Goku's Instantaneous Movement ability, he appears on Kaioushin's planet. Watching Goku battle Majin Buu in Super Saiya-jin Level 3 form, Vegeta finally admits that Goku is the number one fighter in the universe. Then, an ingenious plan hits Vegeta as he watches. He comes up with the idea to revive all the non-evil people whom were killed after the Tenkachi Boudaki so they can donate energy to a massive Genki Dama. The halo floating above Vegeta's head dissappears in result to the wish, however, proving he's not as evil as most people thought. Vegeta even goes as far as to stall Buu while Goku gathers the energy from all the good hearted people on Earth, as well as neighboring planets. Even though all he does is get kicked around, he still bought Goku enough time to build the Genki Dama. Buu is killed by the massive energy blast. There's no doubt about it - Vegeta' black heart is finally gone, and he's a full-fledged hero. In my full opinion, watching Vegeta develop was one of the most interesting, not to mention beautiful, things about Dragon Ball Z. Hands down, Vegeta takes the cake in the area of overall character improvement. I tip my hat to you, Toriyama, for putting together the Saiya-jin prince we know as Vegeta so cleverly and effectively. Anyhow, 10 years pass and Vegeta's settled down a lot with Trunks and Bulma. He still trains just as hard, but not for the desire to kill. He joins the Tenkachi Boudakai at the end, eager to meet this new super-strong opponent Goku's been talking about (Ubuu..) and even forces Trunks to (there's just something humorous about hearing Vegeta threaten to take away Trunks' allowance...). So, Dragon Ball Z comes to an end.
