Here's a little bit about me....
I grew up in Odessa, a city in West Texas, and graduated fourth in my senior class of about 700 last May from Odessa High School.... Now, I'm about 8 hours away- in College Station, Texas, attending Texas A&M University! I'm majoring in Biomedical Science & am really enjoying my first year here! It's tons of fun, but lots of hard work too. I am currently a Junior (A-A-A WHOOP) I'm planning on attending vet school at Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine. I stay busy with studying, taking care of my horse, hanging out with the few friends I have, and occasionally relaxing and sleeping. I'm also in two clubs, Texas A&M's Horsemen's Association , and the Biomedical Science Association. Before leaving for college, I worked at Angel Vet Clinic in Odessa ... Working there for over a year and a half was a great learning experience for me. Now I know for sure I want to be a vet & they can't wait to get me back during summer breaks... About My Horse:
Right now, I have my buckskin Quarter Horse mare Shayla Bar(click here for her pedigree & show record ) with me in College Station, She is great stress relief for me! It's also alot of work having her here, but definitely worth it...I showed her, unsuccessfully, at local Quarter Horse shows in showmanship, halter, western pleasure, and hunter under saddle. I also showed in open horse shows in all the above classes as well as reining, western horsemanship, western riding, and trail, and won my age group(ok, so nobody has to know that I was the only one in my age group)!?! She's starting to jump some & is making a nice barrel run! I don't really care if she actually makes a show horse one day or not, but hey, right now she has 1/2 a point in showmanship of all things... Eventually, she'll get broke and will be bomb-proof... She wants to ba a ranch horse and broodmare, or a kids horse- but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
