8.01: “Stuck in the 20th Century” (Part 2 of 3)
After an encounter with his brother Yancy, Fry and Bender must find a way of returning to the year 3004 to defeat the brain spawn. His luck doesn’t get any better when Bender malfunctions and reboots with an old 20th century robot personality. With no other option, Fry dumps Bender in an abandoned sewer line and then freezes himself for 1004 years, once again. After awakening back in the future he realises that the Earth has already been taken over and is now inhabited by nothing but brain spawn, and humans are nowhere to be seen. Now, Fry and Bender, along with Nibbler, must travel to the head brain spawn’s hide-out far away in the galaxy. When Nibbler and Bender are affected by the brain spawn’s stupefaction powers, Fry must work alone.
8.02: “Stuck in the 20th Century” (Part 3 of 3)
In the final part of the trilogy, Fry travels to the head brain spawn’s palace in Interpol and confronts him. Fry soon realises that to defeat the brain spawn he will have to do the impossible – use his brain. Unfortunately, his plan is unsuccessful. Eventually he uncovers a time machine and travels back to the year 3005, thinking that some future heroes can deal with the brain spawn...
8.03: “Can’t Get You Out of My Head”
Leela goes into a coma after an unfortunate visit to the Galaxy of Terror. Farnsworth has a new invention, allowing any robots to be transformed into digital data and transmitted into a human’s head. Bender accepts the task and readies himself to battle Leela’s coma. Bender’s trip is ill-fated when he is suddenly attacked with Leela’s angry thoughts, in the form of a rare robot virus. Now, Fry must do whatever it takes to get into Leela’s head, fight the coma, and ultimately save Bender.
8.04: “The Bender Show”
Bender is furious when he realises he is the star of a “Truman Show” style reality show, and will do anything to fight against the cameras. Ultimately, he goes into hiding on a mysterious planet and, on president Nixon’s orders, Fry and Leela must catch up with him and get him back to Earth, or else face a drop in the TV show’s ratings.
8.05: “Anthology of Interest V”
Fry, Bender and Leela gather round the what-if machine another time. What if Leela was actually an alien, what if Fry was supreme overlord of the entire universe a la “1984” and what if Bender was a famous time-traveller sent to different time periods to put an end to the world’s problems?
8.06: “Space Mardi Gras”
Fry, Bender and Leela travel to Space Mardi Gras for the yearly Planet Express vacation. Bender manages to get himself involved in a strange ritual in which robots sacrifice humans. A drunken Fry, meanwhile, is determined to get Leela to notice him but must sober up when he realises she has helplessly walked into the robot ceremony.
8.07: “Fry the Spy”
Due to a mix-up, the Intelligence Agency of New New York believe Fry is a highly intelligent, yet highly dangerous, spy. Earth president Richard Nixon orders him to be assassinated. Fry must now flee the Earth in order to find the real spy, but with every spaceship on his tail, it isn’t easy.
8.08: “22”
The Planet Express crew are forced to go on their most dangerous mission yet – to the mythical Labyrinth’s maze. On their arrival they realise they only have 22 minutes to reach their destination and must get there fast, avoiding any problems along the way. In a homage to “24”, this episode is set in real time.
8.09: “Living in a Materialized World”
Fry and Bender get their hands on Farnsworth’s latest invention, the Materializer. They stupidly point it at the television in the middle of a horror movie, and are suddenly ransacked by a group of materialized monsters and an assortment of horror characters. Faced with Earth’s destruction, Fry and Bender must use the Materializer to round up some favorite TV and movie heroes and form an alliance to put a stop to the mayhem.
8.10: “The Great Mutate”
When the city people discover Leela is a mutant, she is banished to live in the sewers with the others. Fry and Bender set out to get her back but manage to stumble into a secret plan to attack New New York, led by Leela. Fry and Bender must now put a stop to Leela’s menacing ultimately trying to resolve the problem the mutants have with their living situation.
8.11: “Little Fry in the Big Ten”
In the year 1985, Fry is a ten-year old boy leading a simple life. That is, until, a purple-haired cyclops by the name of Leela appears out of nowhere. Leela assures Fry that the fate of the world is in his hands. In late 3005, the entire world has been destroyed by Omicronians, leaving Leela as the only survivor. Now, 10-year old Fry must travel with Leela to early 3005 and put a stop to the Omicronian’s plans, ultimately trying to find out “what the hell’s going on”.
8.12: “My Way or the Highway”
Everything is a disaster on Amy and Kif's wedding day when Earth is suddenly attacked by a giant bulldozer. Apparently, Lrrr, ruler of Omicron Persei 8, has purchased the planet and wants to destroy it to make way for a major highway project (a la “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”). Amy, determined not to let the wedding be ruined, hightails it around the universe to get back ownership of the Earth, with the Planet Express crew at hand.
8.13: “I Dated a Cannibal”
Fry starts dating a mysterious alien woman named Claire, causing Leela to be overcome with jealousy. He is invited to Claire’s home planet to meet her mysterious parents. Meanwhile, Leela discovers Claire’s alien race eats their partner after mating with them. With Bender at hand, Leela must catch up to Fry before it’s too late.
8.14: “Chip Off the Old Bot”
At an intergalactic swap meet, Bender comes across a mysterious robot upgrade. However, this “upgrade” is no more than a chip installation to give anybody complete control over Bender. Fry wanders into the plans, only to discover the Robot Mafia is responsible. Fry and Leela set out to remove the chip but need a robot’s helping hand and enlist the help of an old friend, Curver.
8.15: “The Wax of Life”
Planet Express are off on another company outing, this time to Madam Tussauds in London, England. Zoidberg is excited when he finds a wax sculpture of his deceased uncle, Harold Zoid. Farnsworth, meanwhile, has plans of resurrecting the now-dead wax sculptures, but his plans get out of hand when he realises he has put a little too much “evil” in the remedy.
8.16: “Green Eggs and Bam”
Bender gets a temporary job working for Elzar at the restaurant to re-pay his debts to Planet Express. There, he is shocked to find Flexo as the manager. Bender is tired of being treated badly by his “superior” and enlists the help of Curver to show Flexo whose boss.
8.17: “The Fry and Seymour Hour” (Part 1 of 3)
Fry is horrified to discover that his beloved old dog Seymour has been blasted off into deep space in order to make way for a construction. Furious, he rounds up the rest of Planet Express and hightails it around the universe to get back Seymour. Unknown to Fry, they will all be involved in a conspiracy to steal Farnsworth’s brain in order to take over the universe. Fry must now stop the evil aliens involved, ultimately trying to get Seymour back for a proper, and dignified, burial.
8.18: “The Fry and Seymour Hour” (Part 2 of 3)
In a chase across the universe for Farnsworth’s now missing brain, the Planet Express ship flies into a dust storm and arrives on a uncharted planet. Now, Fry, Bender and Leela must search the planet for sources of fuel, with a useless, brainless Farnsworth by their side. Encountering the aliens, the crew realise their absence from Earth have caused the evil brain spawn to annihilate the human race. To be continued...
