To prevent the Earth from destruction, Nixon ordered for cutbacks to be made, ultimately blasting all cryogenic tubes into space to wander aimlessly. With a limited supply of food and no contact to his friends from the year 3005, Fry realises he is done for, but his low spirits are short-lived when the cryogenic tube enters a black hole, and he crashes down to New New York City, 1000 years ago. Bender decides to invite the rest of Planet Express, Zoidberg excluded, and they have an enjoyable evening. Enlisting the help of Amy, Hermes and Zoidberg, he takes a back-up ship (Planet Express Ship 2) and travels to the planet.
