Cutlass

Here's my 1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. I bought it Mid June, 1998 from an ad posted on 442.com. The car was restored in 1994 by a gentleman in Orlando, FL. I tried contacting him to get history details, but had little luck thanks to his wife.

The restoration in '94 included rebuilding the 350 engine and 3-sp transmission, 4 bll carb, a/c, new top & top motor, reupholstered interior to match stock, new 2 1/4' galv. dual exhaust, and paint. The RAM air hood is an original, painted to 442 spec, and tops the matching air cleaner. A Hurst dual gate shifter and sport steering wheel were added, and the bumpers have been nicely rechromed. It has power windows, locks, top, and brakes (4 wheel drum). The original radio still works great with the windshield antenna and 6x9's mounted in the rear bench seat (don't try this with yours). The car is by no means a numbers car. From the windshield back was originally blue, and the front end is from a 442 (the front fenders are 442 as well as the hood) and was originally gold.

I've wanted a Cutlass for quite a while. I figured the Florida sun and air would have given me a chance to do some restoring of my own. I bought a boot for the convertible top and added a tilt steering column, which wasn't too tough. It was a great cruiser. In anticipation of a job in California, I sold the car via a 442.com ad to a fellow in Chicago in January of 2000. He had some small rust spots removed, and had the interior done again. I miss the car!
