Vegetarian Biscuits and Gravy

Gravy
Vegetarian sausage patties
2 T. oil
1-2 T. flour
2 C. milk
Salt
Pepper
In a skillet, cook the sausage patties in the oil until done. Remove the patties, making sure the oil stays in the pan. Add 1 Tbs. of flour to the oil and stir. Let cook until it resembles a paste (you may need to add more flour). Then, whisk one cup of milk into the mixture. Cook, while wisking and adding milk, until the desired gravy consistency is met. The longer you cook it, the thicker it gets. I like to then break up the "sausage" patties and add them bake into the gravy. Pour over biscuits, and chow down.
Wheat Drop Biscuits
1 C. all-purpose flour
1 C. whole wheat flour
1/2 t. salt
4 t. baking powder
1 T. sugar
� C. vegetable shortening
1 C. milk
Preheat oven to 425?F. Grease two 8-inch cake pans. Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Cut the shortening into the flour using two knives, a fork, or pastry blender until it resembles a course meal. Add all of the milk and stir until the mixture is evenly moist. Drop teaspoonful balls onto the pans and bake for 15-20 min. Makes 16 biscuits.
