Chapter 1

"Come on Nook!!! PULLLEEAASSEE!!!� whined Tanya. �You have to come with me to this party, I want you to open your eyes and ears to new things.� She was practically pulling Nook away from her favorite book Jane Eyre. �Besides, this party is a celebration of our graduating from college! We�ve finished and you�ve never been to a single party.�

"Tanya, you know I�m not the party type�besides I wouldn�t have any fun.� Nook tried to make excuses.

"NO!! You�re coming with me whether you like it or not!! You�re so boring I want you to get out once in a while�besides you�ll be to meet guys and probably hook up or something.� Tanya was already rummaging through Nook�s closet for a decent party dress.

"You�ve never had a boyfriend before and this could be your chance to meet a great guy and he can be your first everything!� Tanya chuckled a little as she spoke.

"Fine�I�ll go,� Nook didn�t want to get into an argument over parties again. She also thought it wouldn�t hurt to finally see what Tanya was always raving about.

"You�re so boring and plain,� Tanya mused as she pulled out a very conservative black dress, �I guess this will have to do!�

Tanya threw the dress over to Nook.

"I�ll be back around 8:00 to pick ya up `kay?�

"Alright.� Nook looked down at the dress as Tanya sauntered out of her room and drove off to go shopping.

Nook reminisced over her friendship with Tanya. It was true; they were as different as night and day. She was the quiet and conservative type while Tanya was a party girl. They had met many years ago in kindergarten, Tanya saved her from being picked on by the other kids and since then they�ve been friends.

They attended high school together. Tanya was voted prom queen, most popular and most attractive while she was voted �Most likely to succeed,� or �Most likely to still live at home.� They saw less of each other when they got to college; Tanya went towards Fashion Design while she was Legal studies major.

Tanya would always try to set up her with random guys or drag her along to different frat parties. Nook had never had a boyfriend, and she would always dream that she would meet the love of her life someday soon. Nook never seemed to find the right guy while Tanya went through boyfriends like a person changes clothes. Nook couldn�t help but think of how their friendship had lasted so long when they had absolutely nothing in common. Whatever reason it was, Nook was always grateful to have Tanya by her side.

Chapter 2

Nook picked up the black dress and put it on. This was the same dress she had worn to her Senior Prom. Nook hated wearing dresses and the whole concept of dressing up; to her pain wasn�t beauty but beauty was PAIN. Of course Tanya would be showing off her new boyfriend Tao at this party. Nook couldn�t help but feel sorry for Oil; Tanya�s boyfriend of two years who she had just broke the news to that she had been cheating on him with Tao. The poor guy, he wanted to marry Tanya but she broke his heart and had no regrets. Nook shook the thoughts from her mind as she heard Tao honk his horn, signaling that it was time to go.

"It�s not my problem I shouldn�t think about it�I�m sure everything will work out fine for everyone.� Nook reassured herself about Tanya�s crazy actions. She grabbed her purse and headed downstairs.

The three of them arrived at the party approximately 30 minutes later. Tanya looked like a leech hanging onto Tao while Nook walked slowly behind them. Nook looked around�she wanted to go home already, the music was blasting out of the house�she hated loud music.

Tanya took off her coat only to reveal the shortest strapless black dress. She knew all the guys in the room were eyeing her�and she liked that attention.

"Hey honey let�s dance,� Tao swung Tanya around in a playful manner.

"Hold on�� Tanya giggled and turned to Nook. �Hey you can find a guy here and we�ll both have boyfriends for a change.� Tanya laughed; she was always poking fun at Nook�s forever single status.

"That�s not funny Tanya,� Nook frowned �The music�s too loud it�s giving me a headache.�

"Oh quit being a wet blanket Nook, we�re here to have fun!� Tanya joked. Just then, Tanya found something interesting that caught her eye�Oil.

Nook sensed this and turned around only to see Oil walking towards them. She could see how drunk he was and the anger in his eyes�she was afraid for Tanya. Nook looked back at Tanya and saw her flirting excessively with Tao. The two looked like the needed a room the way they were playing around with each other. Nook shook her head and went upstairs to find a room.

"I hope nothing happens�� Nook was scared of what would happen between Oil and Tao. She finally found a room with a bathroom. Nook locked herself in the bathroom so that she wouldn�t have to deal with what was going to happen downstairs. Besides, the loud music hade given her a horrible headache.

"I guess I�ll just wait here until Tanya decides she wants to go home�owww my head�� Nook sat on the toilet and tried to sleep away her headache, �I hope Tanya comes soon.�

Chapter 3

Downstairs it looked as if World War 3 was about to erupt between Tao and Oil. Oil couldn�t help but feel jealous and furious at what Tanya did to him. He wanted to get her back. He had obviously drank too much despite warnings from his friends�and when he saw Tanya and Tao together, he couldn�t control it anymore.

Oil stumbled his way over to where Tao and Tanya were dancing. He was turning red with anger and jealously. Before they knew it, Oil had swung Tao away from Tanya and punched him. Tao fell to the ground but instantly got up on his feet; he took a swing at Oil. Oil dropped to the ground.

"She�s mine now!!!� Tao yelled furiously. �Pick him back up, I want to teach him a lesson he�ll never forget!!!�

Tao�s buddies pulled Oil back on his feet and held him while Tao pounded the daylights out of Oil. Tanya was in the background�smirking a little.

"This is fun,� Tanya thought, �I should have them do this more often.�

"Tao, stop now honey!! I don�t want you wasting your energy on trash like him!� Tanya finally decided to break it up when she felt that Oil had enough.

"And don�t you dare come near Tanya again!!!� Tao yelled at the half-conscious Oil. �Go dump him somewhere, I don�t want to see this ugly face again,� Tao yelled at his buddies.

Oil was bleeding from the mouth, he looked up at Tanya and mouthed the word, �B**ch!�

Chapter 4

"There!!! Stay in here if you know what�s good for you!!!� Tao�s buddies hollered at Oil before dumping him in a random room upstairs. Each of them pounded him a bit before they left him.

"I�ll get all of you back�.huff�just you wait!� Oil spoke to himself. �Tanya�just you wait, I�ll make to come crawling back to me, I�ll make you want me so bad you�re gonna regret you ever let me go!!�

Oil was rolling around on the bed and knocked over the bedside lamp

----CRASH----

"What was that?� The loud crash outside woke Nook up from her nap. �What�s going on? I thought I left the commotion downstairs.�

She got up and opened the bathroom door to check out what was happening.

"I hope people aren�t doing it in here,� she thought to herself.

She opened the door slightly to see what was going on�in case people were doing something she could shut it quickly. But she never imagined she would see Oil lying on the bed bleeding.

"Oh my gosh!� Nook ran out of the bathroom. �Oil�Oil! What happened? Why are you bleeding?!� Nook was really afraid he would die. She shook him for a while when he finally came to.

"Ugghhh�stop shaking me!� Oil was half talking half delirious. �Who are you anyway?� He sat up slowly to see the face of the person who woke him.

"Nook�� Oil mouthed her name and drifted off into a whisper. �You�re at this party too?� He looked up at her.

"Err�yeah,� she was relieved to see that he wasn�t dead. �I came up here to get away from the loud music�uhhh are you okay?� She was afraid for the worst. Before she came upstairs she saw Oil walking towards Tao and Tanya, she figured out what had happened.

"Yeah I�m fine�I won�t die that easily, not until I get revenge for what that B**CH did to me,� Oil stopped talking and noticed the expression on Nook�s face.

"Sorry, but I can�t help it,� Oil looked down at his fists. He wanted to beat the living daylights out of both Tao and Tanya.

"I know you�re angry but she�s my best friend and I�ll stick by her,� Nook still looked back on how Tanya used to save her from the bullies.

Oil was thinking over and over in his mind how he could take revenge on Tanya. What would make her crawl back to him? What was her weakness? Oil looked up at Nook and suddenly an idea popped into his head.

"I�ll attack her pride�the one thing she loves above all else�and I�ll do it through her best friend!�

Oil was moving closer and closer to Nook. She felt the uncomfortable atmosphere and began to reposition herself further from him.

"Oil�what are you doing?� Nook was scared now; Oil had the look of craziness in his eyes. She got off the bed and started walking backwards towards the bathroom. Suddenly, Oil jumped at her and threw her onto the bed.

"Oil stop!!! What are you doing? Let me go!!!� Nook screamed, what was he doing to her? �Let Go!!! Someone help!!!�

Oil had already pinned her down on the bed and was trying to remove her clothes.

"I�ll get her back through her pride!� Oil replayed in his mind and he tried to keep Nook from moving.

"Oil stop!! Please!! Don�t do this!!� Tears began to fall from her eyes�she couldn�t believe what was happening. �Why are you doing this?� Her tears clouded her vision of Oil with anger in his eyes. Before she knew it she had fainted from exhaustion.

"Nook? Nook?� Oil shook her gently �must�ve fainted� Oil thought to himself. �This makes it much easier then.� Oil went up and locked the door.

"Attack her pride,� the voice in his head repeated, �through her best friend.�

Oil then began to take off Nook�s clothes and proceeded to throw them about the room. He then took off his own clothes and moved in closer to Nook�s unconscious body�

Chapter 5

It was a beautiful day outside, sun shone brilliantly through the bedroom window. One of the rays hit Nook�s eyes. She started moving around to get the sun out of her eyes. It was a bit chilly this morning so she pulled the blanket closer to her body�

Nook felt something heavy around her waist, almost like a branch. She moved around only to feel someone�s warm breath on her back.

"Oh my gosh!� Nook shot up, wrapping as much of the blanket around her as she could, �where am I?�

"Where did my dress go?� Nook looked around frantically trying to figure out why she was naked and sleeping in someone�s bed. But when she turned, she found a man�s body in bed right next to her.

"Oil�� tears began to stream down her face as she remembered the incident that happened last night, �why��

Nook couldn�t hold back her tears, she jumped out of the bed and searched for her clothes and quickly got dressed. She then ran out of the room, not looking back in hopes that if she would then it would be a dream.

Nook sprinted down the street, tears flowing behind her.

"Why did he do it? Why me?� Nook didn�t want to believe that someone who used to be so kind to her would even think about hurting her like this. She knew he was angry with Tanya but she never thought he would hate her too�to the point of�

Nook shook her head, �It�s not true�god tell me it�s not true!�

Before she knew it she was at the steps of her own home. The wind had dried up her tears leaving only a memory of the salty water that once graced her face.

"It can�t be true,� Nook was out of breath; breathing heavily she had never run that fast before in her entire life.

"Forget about it Nook, it was a just a bad dream, no�it was a nightmare � she tried to reassure herself as she walked towards her house.
