There are many different facts to Ranma that cannot be shown in the family tree, thus the
numbers work to explain certain things.

(1) Kenshi is the actual child of Kenshin and Kaoru. He’s shown in the Rurouni Kenshin
Seisouhen OAV, which is the series finale.

(2) Ayeka and Sasami are like Great Aunts.

(3) This is just a note stating that Yosho is Katsuhito, but I'm calling him Yosho right now.

(4) The question marks around Genma’s name symbolize that someone else may in fact be
Ranma’s father, but it has yet to be proven. 

(5) Ranma is the reincarnation of Inu-Yasha.

(6) Lupin and Fujiko changed their last name to Saotome to help them hide from the police.

(7) In the manga it’s explained that Yuusuke’s father is a demon, I don’t know his name, and I
don’t know of Atsuko ever married someone else, and she sure as hell didn’t marry the demon. 

(8) Okii and Shinbun are not the names of Ataru’s parents. His parents are never named in the
anime, always called Mr. and Mrs. Moroboshi. Okii means ‘Loud’ in Japanese, because Mrs.
Moroboshi is a loud, bossy woman. Shinbun means ‘Newspaper’ because Mr. Moroboshi is
always hiding behind his newspaper.
