Boy, am I enjoying my new cell phone antenna!Jim's Radio Page

My days of radio started when I was doing voice overs for my friend in college. I did different voice impersonations and spots on the station there and had a lot of fun at it! Didn't get the chance to do much more with it while on the east coast, but it was something I had an interest in.

Eventually, I went to a school called The Academy Of Radio Broadcasting in Huntington Beach. I was lucky at that time that I wasn't employed and had ways of paying my bills and could turn my full attention towards Doing study at the school. They had their own legal station (that can easily be heard from the parking lot on your car radio! ("OH, dat's a BIG trasmitter mon!") And I did a regular show and news and we learned about editing and many other facets of the radio industry. Originally I wasn't thinking about radio as a career. But all throughout my life people have told me I have a deep sexy voice and a good vocal presence, so I thought I'd do radio as a career while I worked on my other interests. Thinking that I'd work a normal 4 hour radio day and devote the rest of my day and evening to writing or other persuits. One thing they didn't tell you was that after spending your $7500 tuition that the only jobs you get in the first few years pay $6 an hour. Welcome to the wonderful world of radio. I was already making many times that. So a downward financial slope was not in my plans. Not by that much. I did a few things, but nothing full time. Ironically I may now be soon doing something with Metro Traffic. Because of my interest in flying, I may be able to combine radio and flying and make enough that way to do it at least part time.

Hear Jim say a quick bumper.
