We headed out this morning at 10 for the People's Park just a short walk from the hotel. It was beautiful, situated next to a zoo. We did not go in the zoo section, time did not permit and I'm not sure that the way animals are housed would make me very happy from what I've heard from others.   We did walk through the park though and it was stunnning!  Bane scurried around doing photos of the many children at the park, mostly boys with their parents or grandparents. At one point I spotted two little mutts running around the park, they were cute and really ugly all at the same time, probably pekingese mixes. I tried to get shots of them scurrying about looking for handouts.  I had figured out today that the only way for me to fight the incredible fatigue was to put my body in "work mode" then I was fine, I'm use to working when I get tired, so I busied myself doing photos.  I got so engrossed at one point following these little guys that I temporarily "lost" the rest of the group,  I brought the tag we were given in the event we ever got lost, but had neglected to wear it. It was tucked saftey in the backpack that Bane had with him.  I knew I'd better hustle to find them. It didn't take long to track down a large group of new parents toting babies and toddlers, they can only move so fast. It made me pay much better attention though!  Good thing it's so safe in China.

The elderly appear to be very healthy, they are active and often dance with fans in the parks for exercise and probably it reduces stress as well, they looked very relaxed.  In general you don't see the degree of stress in the people here, unless they are driving....then look out. VERY scary being in a vehicle, especially a taxi. Our taxi drivers, who by the way drive sticks, can drive dodging other vehicles, excelerate, brake, talk on the cell phone and listen to the radio all at the same time....that's talent.

This afternoon Jacequline took a group of ladies to a local tailors and allowed us to choose dresses, blouses, etc. to be made for us while we were in Nanchang.  We each selected what we liked and were measured. They were to deliver the clothing to the hotel on Sunday and would allow us to try it on and fix anything needing correcting. I tried on a blouse at the shop that nearly fix me perfect, I liked the style and they had a skirt with it.  So I decided on the skirt/blouse combination which was more suited to life in the laid back mountains, I don't know where I'd ever go to wear something more dressy...not where we live anyway. This way I could wear it with slacks as well.  I've never had anything custom made and the cost was very reasonable, less then $50. US dollars. We purchased some store bought Chinese clothing for Lyndsay since she would outgrow them very quickly, we decided we could get her more things cheaper by going the ready made route.

After a long day we decide to eat gourmet in our room, we had cup-o-noodles and cracker with cheese.
