Objectives:
~ Student will be able to read the story and draw pictures based on what they read from the book
Reason for Text:
~ Continuation from other lesson�s book. My student really wanted to finish reading it and enjoyed reading the first part of the book so I decided to use it again. Also it was an easy text to work on comprehension.
Materials:
- paper to draw on
- colored pencils or crayons
- Cronin, Doreen. (2003) Diary of a Worm. Scholastic Inc: New York
Learning Activity:
- Student will read the second half of the story first through and only look at the text and the pictures are covered up.
- After reading to the end of the book student will then go back and draw a pictures based on what they had read.
- They will be making a picture book with no words of what the end of the book was about.
Closure Activity:
- Student will then go back and compare how their pictures varied or was they the same as the ones in the book.
- Talk about why he picked the pictures he did and why does he think the author picked the pictures they did |
