Lesson #3
Objectives:
~ Student will be able to look at pictures from the book and use it to tell the story.

Reason for Text:
~ I just thought it was good to go over comprehension and had two activities that I wanted to do so I decided to pick a longer book and break it up in half.  Plus I heard it was a funny book and I thought my student would enjoy it.

Materials:
- paper to write on (Ones with lines)
- Cronin, Doreen. (2003). Diarys of a Worm. Scholastic Inc: New York.

Learning Activity:
- Teacher introduces book, Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin.
- Have student predict how the book might look like or what it is about. (prompt student to think, ask them questions like do you think it will look like this?)
- Once you talk about the book, student is going to look at the pictures (Make sure to cover the words)
- Student is then going to write a story that goes along with the pictures he sees.

Closure Activity:

- Once student is done writing out the story, they will look back in the book to see what the author wrote and what they wrote
- Great opportunity for student to be creative, practice writing as well as compare and contrast.
