What was the Townshend Act?

- Placed tax on common items like tea, lead, glass and paint
What was the Stamp Act?

It placed a tax on legal documents. Colonists thought that it was just to raise money and was an unjust burden placed on them
Who was Paul Revere?

Patriot that spotted the coming British Troops crossing the Charles River.
What was the Boston Massacre?

Five civilians were killed by British troops, which helped spark the American Revolutionary War
What was the Proclamation Order?

Created a boundary line limiting colonization to the Appalachian Mountains
What was the Boston Tea Party?

Protest by the Americans against Great Britain, and destroyed many crates and tea bricks on ships in the Boston Harbor
What was the Declaration of Independence?

Developed by the 13 colonies, that stated that they formed a new nation called the "United States of America"
What was the Sugar Act?

A revision to the earlier Sugar and Molasses Act, which had imposed a tax of sixpence per gallon on molasses in order to make English products cheaper than those from the French West Indies.
What was the Tea Act?

Allowed the British Eas India Company to sell tea to the British colonies in North America without the usual colonial tax, thereby allowing them to undercut the prices of the colonial merchants and smugglers
