1    What does the word "Islam" mean?
1     It means submission to the will of Allah.

2    Why did pilgrims visit the city of Mecca?
2     The pilgrims visited Mecca to pary to the idols in the Kaaba.

3    Why did some of the people of Mecca want to kill Mohammed?
3     It is because the rich people in Mecca were afraid that if people believedin Allah, nobody
       would came to worship other  idols, then they could not collect money the pilgrims.

4    Where did Mohammed go to escape?
4     He fled to the nearby town of Medina.

5    What was it that made poorer people take up Islam?
5     Most of the poor people were attracted to Islam because it's teaching offered them a fairer
       society.

6    What did Muslims believe about the Koran?
6     He believed that the words in the koran were those of Allah, spoken though his prophet
       Mohammed.

7    What are the Five Pillars of Islam?
7     The Five of Islam:
        Allah is the one true God, and Mohammed is Allah's messnger.
        Pary five times a day and face Mecca while praying.
        Do not eat or or drink during the daylight hours of Ramadam the month in which Mohammed
        first received the message from Allah.
        Help the poor.
        Visit the Kaaba at Mecca at least once in a lifetime.

8    What helped to spread Islam to different parts of the world?
8     Musilm amies spread the Islamic religion eastwards to India and westwards across bNorth
       Africa and into Spain.

9    What advances did Muslims make in science and mathematics?
9     Some Islamic astronomers belived that the earth turned on its own axis and went around
        the sun.

10  What advance did they make in geography?
10   The Muslims made the most accurate map at the time.

11  Name one famous Muslim story book.
11  The Arabian Nights is the one famous Muslim story book.

12  How did Muslims help with the spread of culture?
12  Muslim traders travelled to China, India, Africa and Europe to helped whit the spread of
       culture.
