| Chapter 7 |
| I shook myself awake in panic when I heard noises outside the window. I quietly jumped out of the bed and ran down the hall. I ran into Mark's room and pounced on his bed. "Mark get up there's someone outside." I said shaking him awake. "What?" He asked sleepily, "What where?" Suddenly he jumped out of bed alertly. "Wait!" I yelled at him histerically. He turned around and watched me slide his closet door open and reach inside it. "Ok! Now I'm ready." I assured him, now waving the hockey stick. I followed him down the hall and back into Christian's room. Mark pulled one corner of the window cover up and peeked outside. He shook his head and I watched as he turned to exit the room grabbing the stick from my hand "Where are you going?" I whispered still in a panic, "And give me back my stick!" I grabbed the hockey stick back out of his hand. He again forcefully pulled it from my grip. "Look out the window. Goodnight." Mark replied trudging tiredly back out the door. I tip toed toward the open window and looked outside. There was Christian sitting on the cement step outside the room, guitar in hand. I decided to go back to sleep. As I lay in bed trying to sleep, Christian's voice drifted into the room. Until you're back here baby....miss you, want you, need you so Until you're back her baby oh yeah, There's a feeling inside I want you to know, You are the one, and I can't let you go So I told you lies, even made you cry, baby I was so wrong Girl I promise you, now my love is true this is where my heart belongs I lifted the covers off me and got up out of the bed. I walked over to the window and lifted the curtain up over my head. He looked so sad as he played and sang. Tears started falling from my eyes listening to his song. He turned his face towards the window I stood behind and our eyes made contact. I slammed the window shut and fell back onto my bed, sleeping until morning. *** *** *** I awoke the next morning to that pesky alarm clock. Is that not the most annoying sound in the world or what? I grabbed the clock and hastily threw it to the ground. When I first got to England I couldn't wait to get out and do anything, and everything there was to do. Now it seemed like I wanted to sleep until it was time to go home. The door creaked open and in walked Ste carrying a steaming cup. "G'morning sleepy!" He said handing the cup to me as I sat up. He gave me a strange look and nodded his head toward the window, "I heard someone serenaded you last night!" "How did you hear that?" I asked sipping my coffee. "Well when I stepped out the door this morning, that someone was still out there. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Only a couple more days and I get to go home. I thank God for that." I said lifting my feet over the edge of the bed and standing up. I threw on a baseball cap and some clothes and prepared myself for another day of shopping. |
