| He walked through the hall and entered the studio. Ste and Mark were seated with Jerry. "Hey Christian, I heard you overslept." Jerry said looking at him as he stood in the doorway. Christian shot a glare at his bandmates who were laughing. "Well now that we have all of you here, you can start recording the song you finished yesterday." Jerry said motioning the boys into the sound booth. The boys walked inside and began putting on their headphones and positioning themselves around the microphone. "Let me know when you are ready." A soft voice came through the boys headphones. All three of the boys looked up and through the glass and saw Carlee sitting in the place of her father. "Ya ready?" She asked them. The music started and they began singing. *** *** *** *** "Ok that's it for today, I will see you tomorrow." I said getting up from behind the sound board and putting on my coat. The boys set down their headphones and walked into the recording room. "Hey, we are gonna go get some lunch or something. Do you want to come wtih us." Mark asked as they all followed me out the door into the record company office hall. I turned around to face them. "Well...uh...um...sure why not?" I answered. I mean, I hardly knew them, but I had nothing else to do. If I were to stick around the office I would probably end up delivering pizzas or something. "So where are we going?" I asked walking in between Mark and Christian. "How about right here?" Ste said pointing to the little restaurant next to the sidewalk. We were seated at a table near the window and and a waiter came and took our order. "Me and Ste are gonna go over to the store down the street. Will you guys stay and wait for the bill and meet us there?" Mark asked hopefully. "Sure." Christian answered looking at me as I nodded my head. The two boys took off out of the restaurant excitedly. After the exit of Mark and Ste, an akward silence was left between the two of us. "So what are you doing tonight?" Christian asked. "Nothing, probably just hanging around my place." I answered pathetically. "How about going out to dinner with me?" Christian asked hopefully waiting impatiently for my answer. That's when I knew I had to leave. I was attracted to him, yeah I will admit it, but I wouldn't date musicians I kept reminding myself. "I'm sorry, I don't date musicians." I said finally mustering up enough strength to speak. "Yeah, uh it's ok." He said getting up, paying the bill. "Well, I am going to head home." I said walking towards the door. "Bye." Christian said as the door slammed shut behind me. I walked home the long way. I can't believe it. Why is it always the musicians. I know that I am in a family of musicians but, I couldn't handle another one. When I reached my apartment I went directly to the fridge for some ice cream. *** *** *** *** I slowly woke up as the sun floated in through my sheer curtains and onto my face. I instantly looked at the clock. "11:00! Dammit, I'm late!" I yelled throwing off my covers and quickly pulling on a black skirt and blue top. I trudged into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and ran a brush through my hair. When I finally hailed a cab, and reached the office, it was 11:30. When I was a few feet from the studio a hand grabbed my shoulder. "I sent them home, they waited for almost three hours." My dad said with that horrible disappointed look he has on his face when someone lets him down. "I'm sorry dad, I over slept. It won't happen again." I said walking through the studio door. I sat down behind the sound board and picked a single rose sitting on it. Attached to it was a small note. On it read: "Please, just go out with me tonight. Just give me a chance. Love, Christian." I picked up the rose and walked out the door. Next Chapter |
