"We can secure other people's approval if we do right and try hard, but our own is worth a hundred of it."  -  Mark Twain

You don't have to judge yourself by others' criteria and have to be true to yourself. Decide what you believe in and how to conduct yourself.

Since first impressions ast, it is vital you think about how you present yourself to others. Family, work, hobbies, leisure interests, holidays, diverse interests and education make great topics for conversation, but avoid contentious topics such as politics, sex and religeon until your relationship is more firmly established. Initiating converstions with others serves as great learning experience. By so doing you can encourage others with your efforts to initiate positive changes not only in themselves, but also the environment and society in general. How do you mean to improve the world? Tell me more about your efforts up to date. Why do you say that there are certain things ir situations in your immediate environment that could benefit from your remedial actions? How do you feel about striving towards a better society and community upliftment in general? What do you think of the world as it is now?

Keep your options open by regarding a stranger as a friend you've yet to meet or only just met and aspire to make everyone glad they met you. Be understanding of others by listening to their respective predicaments; have something good to say and something worthwhile to do; express yourself well by doing good. You do not have to agree;  you are at liberty to disagree. Compromising does not necessarily imply sheepishly following the norm; you won't be met with scorn  if you display strength of character, as you do have a mind of your own, I suppose I'm quite right in assuming, don't you?

"Too often our behaviour is dictated by obligation to others; in the process, we forget the promary obligation: to be ourselves."  -  Arthur Millar

Don't you wish there were times in the past when you acted and responded more assertively and positively? How can you improve your own actions to cause improvement should similar circumstances occur? Becoming more involved in community upliftment will benefit your personally, as you can realise that stagnation holds few benefits. Progression is possible by effecting changes in certain areas of your life, at home, at work, in social activities, anywhere in your own personal surrondings or even further afield for that matter.

Just for today do one positive thing that reflects your true feelings and is conducive to realising another's wishes, needs and values by some act of kindness, irrespective of how small. At the culminations of your efforts, contemplate on how well did it go, you are a better person for it, so do the same tomorrow.
