History
The Fun City Youth Academy (FCYA) was originated in 1970 with 25 children housed in the lower level of St.Paul AME Church.  The program has grown rapidly and is now, occupying space in the Frederick Douglass High School, with an enrollment of 150 and waiting list of well over 100 annually.
FCVA's Parent Network was established in 2001 in order to provide a sustainable forum for urban adults to work together toward enhancing quality of life with educational, social, and vocational empowerment strategies.
Mini-Society program teaches entrepreneurship, and integrates the study of entrepreneurship with other subjects such as mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, critical thinking, problem solving, practical arts and cooperative thinking.
InterAct Teen to Teen Theatre became a part of Fun City in July 2003.
Fees
Approximately 80% of children in Fun City are from low-income families. In order to prevent any child from losing summer day care or special services, fees are kept low through a sliding fee scale based on monthly income and family size.
