| MEMORIES OF JAMES A GARFIELD As retold by Currence |
| First I'll talk about the teachers Mr. Howell: A man of music. At first he appears to be a long-haired hippy fool, but underneath his veneer one can see his troubled state of mind. Inside he is more cynical than not, almost as if he realizes the world isn't going to get any better, no matter how hard he tries to change it. Or else he fears this, yet stodgingly refuses to admit defeat. He is a thinker. He realizes that no issue is entirely black and white, yet this realization prevents him from ever achieving an entirely sound state of mind. Nevertheless, he is truly a good man. Mr. Jordan: A man of passions. He has found the secret to life; for himself at least. If only we were all content with hard work and perseverance. He will always be truly happy, so long as he never becomes disenchanted. He is also a good man at heart. He believes in what he says, and I doubt he ever lies. However, his mind is practically closed. Although this gives him incredible comfort, it makes dealing with him difficult at times. Mr. Engelhart: A man of fun, games, and calculated risks. Although he is not arrogant, he likes to smugly consider himself superior to those that disagree with him. He always enjoys a good laugh, although it may be some weird form of mathematician humor. He reminds me of a deer staring into car headlights when he writes on the board, eyes wide open and sniffing with his sinus congestion. Mr. Engelhart could have been my good friend if I hadn't hated math so much. Mr. Walker: I have played chess with this man, and beat him several times. Mr. Jakobsens: I don't know what to think about Mr. Jakobsens, nor do I know how to spell his name. He was always fond of me, and I was always fond of him. I still think that he is a good man at heart, and I wish him the best. Mr. Agona: The ultimate smart ass. What a hero! Agona knows exactly what he is doing: he is purposefully projecting the personality of a hard ass. I will say this: Mr. Agona is very cool, although he tends to say "Alright" a hell of a lot.
