I attended the 2000 Classic because I had just bought my first VW, my 97 Jetta, and had just received the first issue of my VW Trends subscription. Since there are so many shows in the summer, VWT often puts the images and stories in the mag many months afterward. In this case, I was reading about the 99 show and noticed that there was a calendar note about the next one. I looked at the date, and it was tomorrow! I live right up the coast from Norwalk, so I had to go.
While there, I took some pictures, and can now share them with you. I wasn't into buses yet, so I didn't shoot a single one. However, I got some great pics of many nice VWs of different eras and models. As you can see, it was a beautiful day.
Here's a nice pair of vintage beetles, a yellow convertible beetle, an awesome convertible ghia, a gorgeous red notchback type III, a pair of beautiful speedsters, an early red Jetta, and a nice red and white beetle:

After the show, I was hooked. This was when I started thinking about finding a way to get an aircooled VW. The newer cars are cool, and very convenient, but there's nothing like the older styles.
