| BASKETBALL's debut album is 12 songs and over an hour of sheer joy and melody madness. This collaboration of Ian Pollock (Walking On Tails, Local Hero, Double Bluff), Jimmy Pell (the Fountains, davesgonemad, OrangeRabbitCarrot) and Grant Cross (Leafs + Duck, the Wooly Blunders, the Doom Wreckers) was written and recorded in a 2 hour timespan, but listening to it, one would guess they had practised together for 100 years. Song topics range from wily occurences to perilous gals to pots of cheese. This album makes you laugh and cry and feel like you need to record an album. |
| Walking On Tails is the only Ian Pollock anybody knows. These songs are amazing. Spanning an incredible year, this collection is 76 minutes of everything good under rock 'n roll's blazing sun. Tracks one thru 8 were originally recorded by the band Local Hero (band members include Ian Pollock and Ian Pollock with Ian P. chiming in on lead guitar on select tracks) and were held like treasure under the sea. Hailed by some as the best unreleased album of 2001, these songs melt you, roll you and recreate you. Then comes tracks 9 thru 13, originally to be released as a split between Local Hero and the Noddys, these songs display Ian's tremendous range of creative melody. Finally, tracks 14 thru 24 are Walking On Tails in the flesh. Holding a musical style but exploring the whole wide world, these songs tickle the soul. This is surely a collection for the masses, huddled and/or naked. Ian is a prophet, playing every note and showing us our future. |

But he is more than that, Jimmy Pell is a human boy with an ear for good music and a paw in the honey jar. These are 10 songs sure to keep you safe, never making you sick. This album is terrific for sing-a-longs, inspiration, communication and relation. There is love in the lasergrooves of this compact disc. OrangeRabbitCarrot is all over the map (of the whole world in Jimmy's hands), yet it all sounds like Jimmy. What does Jimym sound like? Like America is supposed to, like the desert and like the rain. | Leafs + Duck is 70+ minutes of leafs. That's right, leafs! Leafs + Duck recorded 19 or so of these songs at once, with no overdubs and no redo's. The record doesn't sound all that great but he got out the words and made the notes. When listening, it is best to lay in bed, on a pillow, concentrating on all the love coming from your stereo (altho most of the songs are in mono). If you can write and record better songs, then do it. That is exactly what this album challenges you to do. Start a band, with your friends, not the musician kids you don't know all that well, your best friends, the ones that can't play at all but will understand what you are singing about. Stay outta control. Stay outta site and sound. I think I love you. |

Ryan plays songs about love and the fading thereof and about how it feels to play Varsity Soccer (thats not true). there are guitars and vocal harmonies and piano-s and 303s and beats and digs. Have you ever played volleyball and it just felt good? Well, if you have, that is how this record sounds to me. Honestly, Ryan should be famous. A rockstar like they don't make anymore. These songs should be broadcast from boats that tour the globe. Thank you Ryan. |

| the Deer Knifes- Gas the Party Guests! Sound is an impenetrable calamity and noise ain't much different. This is sort of the sister record that the Leafs + Duck never had. The quality of fidelity is much better than the her sister, but she remains a cheater and a liar. It was cathartic to make this record and it is good to listen to. The goal of the Deer Knifes is to make it real, make it fantastic and this new CD proves that the wings will hurt you when they spring out your back. |

| Ryan Thomas Becker's second Funanimal unleash is called "Found Dead With A Smile On His Face" yet Ryan is still very much alive and kicking it. these 10 songs love one another. They live together on this cd and they work together like a soccer team from another town that just looked so good and then you played 'em and the first play of the game they beat you. Recorded with expertise of 4-track in Highland Village, Texas, FDWASONHF is the kind of project that makes a month proud of itself. Plus it includes a couple live tunes and a REmix. I couldn't tell you why Ryan isn't famous yet, he's so damn hott and his music speaks like magic crows. Bravo Mr. Becker, tell your parents hello! |
