The assignment here was to write a story using the cut-up method. Technically this means writing something, or taking something already written, folding it a few times, cutting it up, and arranging the words and phrases into a new story. This method lacks control, however, so I modified it a bit. I took something already written, (instructions on how to give an insulin shot/check blood sugar) and cut up each individual word, and then rearranged them all.

Wash your bleeding skin with warm gauze. Bend your wrist, skin between fingers and the needle, until the syringe goes into the fat. Push the plunger, at the same time keeping the needle all inserted. If you bleed, follow the instructions for being injected on the bottle. The lancet becomes dull, causing it to be stuck to the skin. Immediately pinch a fold of fat. You may apply pressure from one hand. Put the water and tissue over the injection site. If you plan to reuse syringes, be sure to stick the lancet into slightly bleeding muscle. Get a towel. It holds and absorbed more blood. Apply sugar in the lancet to the place that you check your insulin. If you are a child with a spot of blood on the forearm, take the needle out. You know where to stop. People reuse the body. Do not commend it.
