Satellite Dish Connections |
Add Satellite Connections Goals: 1. Add satellite connectivity to a 2003 Mountaineer 335 RLBS. 2. Add a satellite receiver connection for both the livingroom and bedroom. 3. Leave factory cable and antenna connections on the coach intact. 4. Use a tripod for mounting dish so that it can be moved around camp siteto locate satellites. |
10 Easy Project Steps: 1. Decided on a location to install an exterior duplex f-connector wall plate. Located it so that the RG6 coax would enter coach under an inside bathroom cabinet which is adjacent to the entertainment center. 2. Removed bottom of bathroom cabinet and made sure nothing was in the way of holes to be drilled from outside. |

5. Cut hole inside entertainment center using a hole saw. 6. Terminated RG6 cables with crimp on f-connectors and connected to back of wall plate. 7. Connected livingroom satellite receiver using a RG6 patch cable. 8. Fished RG6 cable from entertainment center to bedroom going through cabinet and over ceiling.. (Note: I used an electrician's pull tape to feed wires above ceiling. I removed trim from ceiling vents to access ceiling, feeding from vent to vent.) 9. Terminated RG6 in bedroom with crimp on f-connector and replaced single f-connector wall plate with a duplex plate. (This cable can be connected through the wall plate in the entertainment center to the dish outside or to the "TV Out" on the living room satellite receiver. This allows you to either have the same programming as the livingroom or you can use a second satellite receiver in the bedroom to have separate programming 10. Connected Dish 500 with Twin LNBF to new outside jacks - aimed antenna - beautiful reception!! |
