Willaim Shatner Presents
Groom Lake

The Truth Lies Beneath...

On January 7th, 2003, William Shatner's much anticipated Groom Lake will be released on video/DVD by Shadow Entertainment.  The movie is a science fiction love story set against the backdrop of a small desert town in southeastern Arizona

It centers around a beautiful young woman named Kate played by Amy Acker (Angel), who has a terminal illness and sets out to prove the existance of extraterrestrials, thereby reaffirming that life does not end with the death of our physical bodies.

In the movie, Kate and her husband Andy played by Dan Gauthier (Excessive Force II, Teen Witch) travel to an eccentric desert town called Groom Lake on the ouskirts of a military base.  The town, made famous by tall stories of UFO and alien encounters, lures the young couple in.  Soon they find themselves witness to strange events and sightings.  Ultimately, their investigation brings them face to face with a military conspiracy and the truth behind the alien mystery.  UFO investigators may recongnize Groom Lake as one of the many names associated with a secret United States military facility located about 90 miles north of Las Vegas.  Also know as Area 51, the site is believed to be a testing ground for sophisticated aircraft and has long been associated with UFO sightings.

William Shatner directed Groom Lake from a screenplay by Maurice Hurley.  The film was executive produced by Charles Band and William Shatner, produced by J.R. Bookwalter and Chuck Williams, and additionally stars Dick Van Patten (Eight is Enough) and Tom Towles (The Rock, Prophecy II).  William Shatner plays the part of Colonel John Gossner.  The film runs 92 minutes.
