Profile - Batman
The Character
Origin: As a toddler, Bruce Wayne had fallen into the limestone caves underneath Wayne manor.  The bats infesting these caves terrified the boy, and haunted his nightmares.  When his parents were killed in front of him Bruce decided that he would dedicate himself to fighting the kind of injustice that ended Thomas and Martha Waynes life.  The images of the bats from the caves still haunted him, and believing that criminals were "a cowardly and superstitious lot" he adopted the guise of batman.

Real name:
Bruce Wayne

Occupation:
vigilante, millionaire philanthropist

Powers:
None.  12 years spent in education in places such as Cambridge and the Sorbonne have made Bruce an expert in chemistry, physics, and countless other subjects.  In addition to this more unorthodox training by the Kirigi school of Ninjitsu, and Nepalese monks have given him knowledge of tracking, stealth and healing techniques.  He is conversant with 127 different forms of armed and unarmed combat, from Aikido to Yaw-Yan.  The bat-suit's body armour is chemical and fire resistant, the whole costume is bullet proof to an extent, however the main kevlar weave is concentrated on the bat-symbol (an obvious and intentional target). Designed primarily for the psychological effect, the weighted ends of the cape mean it can be used as a weapon.  Kevlar panels in the front of the cowl allow Batman to use his head as an efficient weapon.  Starlight lenses and audio processors allow Batman to imitate the abilities of a bat.  In the cowl there is also a transmitter to allow communication with allies such as robin and oracle. His infamous 'utility belt' contains batarangs, monofilament jump-lines, gas bombs, lock-picks, antitoxins and is equipped with it's own defence and self-destruct capabilities.  As well as all this bats' impressive arsenal also contains, a wall-penetrating grapnel, tracers, binoculars, 7 different models of the batmobile, bat-cycles, bat-copters and bat-planes.  In his guise as Bruce Wayne, he is one of the richest men in the world, and owns companies who are at the forefront of technological development.  He has access to some of the most restricted information in the world.  And in some instances, the rather vacant and idiotic Bruce Wayne facade is almost as effective as the bat-suit.
The Clix
ROOKIE : 85 points isn't exactly cheap, but the guy's Batman, what do you expect?  Leap/Climb, Smoke Cloud, Incapacitate, Willpower, Close Combat Expert  and Outwit at various points on the dial.  An excellent little figure.  Nice damage, decent attack values.  A real beast in the game, especially with the Batman team ability granting him stealth.

EXPERIENCED :
Looking for a figure around a hundred points??? I'd suggest this one.  More Leap/Climb, more Willpower, damage of 3 for a little longer, increased range.  Still benefitting from the Batman team ability.

VETERAN :
Despite an increase in numbers, and a dial packed with all his skills (including massive increases in Incapacitate and Willpower) this version of Batman suffers slightly through having the JLA team ability rather than Batman ally, and having Leadership insted of Outwit for the first 2 clicks.  Overall, use the Experienced version if you can.

UNIQUE : Usually, despite their differences in style and 'modus operandi' Batman and Superman co-exist peacefully and happily.  Working together in 'World's Finest' and teaming together in the Justice Leage, the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel have cut an imposing figure on the criminals of Gotham, Metropolis and elsewhere.  However, In the "possible future" story DK2 Superman is the tool of a corrupt government system and he is ordered to 'bring Batman in'.  He tries, However Batman is ready, and as always, he's up to the task, wearing Kryptonite gloves, he gave the Man of Steel a sound thrashing.  The unique version of Batman is more of a fighter, Charge, Slightly different numbers and arrangement of powers.  Excellent figure.
