| Loki started out as a giant, all those years ago. He didn't have any time to get to know his family before they were all killed off by the gods of Asgard. Odin, the ruler of Asgard, took pity on Loki and adopted him as his own. Loki was made a demi-god. Odin also had another son, a true god by the name of Thor. Being a full-blooded god son of Odin, Thor was respected as the next ruler of Asgard. Loki was virtually ignored, and was forced to live under the shadow of his spoiled brother Thor. Loki did not have the strength of the gods, and seeked acceptance as one of them, so he started a search for another way of overpowering his brother Thor. It was not long before Loki turned to magic, he showed a strange gift for it, he reveled in his newly found power and became a rival to the gods themselves. He was then accepted as a true god, he was dubbed the God of Evil, and later the God of Mischief. He played many pranks upon the gods, some immature, some downright evil, but no matter what prank he pulled, it turned out for the best in the long run. Until one day, when he was feeling particularly evil and he caused the death of the gods' beloved Balder the Good. |
