| Checking In All magical items, weapons, special abilities and knightly abilities must be check in at the door of the event to the Game Master before the starting of the event or when you arrive at the door. The Game master should know about all the abilities that the characters have. This is done so that the Game Master has time to adjust his plot accordingly so that it isn't too hard or too easy for the players. Some areas of Arcaina may have some odd effects on your spells and they will be told to you during your registration. Weapons Inspection All weapons that are brought in are inspected by the player who brings them. At any time a marshal or the Game Master my inspect any weapon if they feel it may be unsafe. If a weapon is deemed unsafe it must be removed from play until it is repaired or brought to a safe status. If you are unsure about a weapons safety please bring it to the Game Master or a marshals attention so that they can inspect it. Combat Combat is done with boffer weapons. Damage is dealt when a boffer weapon or spell strikes one of the seven strike locations( head, chest, back, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg). This is a lightest touch system, this means if you feel the hit take it. Face and throat are off target areas and should not be taken. Face is considered the area on your head below your eyebrows and in front of your ears (The ears are also off target). Also note that no projectiles may strike above the shoulders. The back and top of your head are legal targets. Groin shots are also illegal though these shots must be taken as a shot to the torso. This rule also applies to breast shots on females. If you are struck in a kill zone when you no longer have any hit points you are dead. If you are struck on a disabled limb then the shot will follow though onto the torso or on to the other limb. If a weapon strikes a dead limb with a thrust hitting the front of the biceps or the thigh muscle it will not continue to the next hit location. This also applies to the back of these locations. If you are hit on your hand while it is on a weapon you may call hand on weapon or hand and take no effect to that strike. If you are hit in multiple locations with that same swing or the same spell you must take all the hits that it delivered. If you are hit in an off target area and then it continues to an on target area you must take the on target hit. If you are hit with the shaft of an arrow you may call shaft and not take the damage. Late Shots If you strike someone after you have lost the limb wielding the weapon or after you have been killed, it is your responsibility to tell your opponent not to take the blow, even if you think the blow was late. This helps avoid confusion, and promotes the same kind of behavior when someone else hits you late. Hold Rule If at any time you see an unsafe or harmful situation yell the word "HOLD" once hold is called everyone should say the word "HOLD" and freeze in place, only people who are designated to move during a hold may do so. This is a safety precaution so that we are able to safely deal with any situation that may cause harm to any player. This is to only be used in the event of a dangerous situation and can never be used to discuss rules. Dead, Very Dead, and Gone Now for the more gruesome section of the game. Death is all part of the game. It comes about when your hit points drop below zero and you are struck in a kill location. At this time you call out the word "dead" and fall down with your weapon above your head. While you are dead you can not, speak, move, or even look around. When you are dead and then brought back from the dead you do not remember anything that happened while you were dead.. To be brought back from death can be done in a many of ways. A raise dead spell could be cast on you or even a Combat Raise spell. Now there is another form of death, this is being very dead. When you are very dead your soul has left your body. When this happens many things change. First off a raise dead spell will not bring you back. The only way you come back from this one is to have your soul put back in your body and have a raise dead spell cast on you. This at time can be a very difficult task. When you are very dead you act the same why as you would as if you were just dead the only acceptation is that normal means of raising the dead don't work on you. The final stage of death is when you are gone. It is just like it sound, when you are gone make a new character because that one probably isn't coming back soon or probably ever. To get to the gone state you must reach the very dead state ten times in one year. Each time you reach the very dead state you must report it to the GM so he can keep track of the times you have been very dead. Theft and Searching Theft in Twisted Reality is much different than theft in real-life, after all, it is a G-A-M-E . The only objects that are stealable in game are currency and items marked Stealable. In addition to being able to steal only In GAME items, there is a procedure that must be done to obtain these items. The first way to be able to get these wonderful goodies is to point search the items off from the person. To do this you point to the location and name the location you wish to search. If the character has any stealable items in that location, they must turn them over. The next way to obtain stealable items is to do a full search. This is done by saying, Full Search and counting to 120. At the completion of the count, the searched character must turn over all stealable items on their person. The final way to get a stealable item, is to obtain it when it is not on a person. Drag Rule To drag a disabled character, be they dead, unconscious, or what have you, simply place your hand on their shoulder and say, drag. If someone is dragging you, stand up and walk with them. You must continue to walk with them until they let go of you or say drop. At this point, you drop and place your hand above your head, representing your disabled state. Signs You Should Know Invisiblility: If a person has their arms across their chest they are invisible and you should act as if they are not there. Dead: If a character has their weapon on top of their head they are dead. Out of Character: If a player has their arm over their head they are no longer in game, they are acting out of character.
