Countries
Island of Power:
This island is a magical focal point.  Many mages and scholars travel to this mystic island to study the ways of magic and feel the mystical force that is derived from this island.  Although this is a place of great magic not all visitors are welcome.  Most high mages consider this place a sacred temple of magic and intruders are met with a fierce force.  A series of trials are required to be passed before admittance is excepted.  From history past many young scholars have tried to venture to the Island of Power but have returned home failures.  In a small culture a group of mages send their children to learn the magic from the high college.  These children grow up with great power not only from their learnings but simply by being on the island for a long period of time.  After graduation these children are entered into the Guild of The Magi.  The only way to access the island is by sea faring ship or air ship, even then they may only dock on one of the small islands that surround the Island of Power.  From these small islands someone wishing to enter the main island must travel though a magical transporter.  Any vessel trying to gain access to the main island is swiftly downed regardless of the reason for trying to access the island.  If a person is so bold as to attempt a magical entry they will find their spell horribly twisted and most likely transported into a wall somewhere off the southern cost.   The major export from the Island of Power are scrolls, potions and mystic items of power.

Land of Lost Souls:
With in the Land of Lost Souls are the out casts of all other towns and nations.  This place is mostly reserved for the most hardened criminals and outcast beasts.  This land has fallen to a corrupt taint that plagues all who enter.  From the corruption of the land has spawned some of the most foul creatures ever to roam the planet.  During the early development of the countries the original criminals were sent to this place to spend the rest of their days to die.  After time the souls of these evil creatures began to seep into the land causing a cesspools of torment and hatred.  Now this land is used as an ultimate punishment for those who have passed the punishment of exile.  They are sent to this retched land to fend for themselves and ultimately die.  The greatest problem with this punishment is that the more criminals sent to this land the greater the taint becomes and the more powerful the creatures in this land become.  A great wall has been constructed around this land so that  the foul creatures can not escape and plague the rest of the realm but there has been times where a few have snuck though and reeked havoc on the land.  All those who wish to brave this deadly land are checked in and allowed free access to the Land of Lost Souls but exiting is another story.  When trying to leave this land the person is magically scanned for traces of the plague.  If the plague is detected within them they are swiftly killed and dealt with.  For those who only have a small exposure to the plague there is still hope for a cleansing ritual can be done to cure them.  The unlucky ones who have been exposed for too long have no hope of recovery and are destroyed never to walk the realm again.  Although the Land of Lost Souls seems desolate and baron there is some good that comes of this foul place.  The Land of Lost Souls does have an export.  Some merchants have been known to peddle in information and some exotic wears out of this land.
