| Melanin is an important protective screen against the sun. It absorbs UV rays. 1. Suntan- exposure to sun stimulates an increased amount of melanin productions, causing skin becomes darkers. 2. Freckle- an uneven distribution of melanin. 3. Sunburn- the melanin is not able to absorb all UV rays, the result is cell damage. 4 Wrinkles- result from damage due to exposure to the sun over a period of time. 5. Skin cancer- result from excessive exposure to the sun over period of time. |
