Muscular System
There are three types of muscle tissues: Skeletal, smooth, and cardiac
Skeletal muscle:
- has many nuclei, and striation
- a voluntary mucle control
- helps maintain posture, and is used in movement of bones
Smooth muscle:
- has no striations, and single nucleus
- lack of transverse tubules
- is an involuntary muscle control
- found in the wall of visera, and is used in movement of visera and peristalsis
Cardiac Muscle
- strongest muscle
- has striation, and single nucleus
- found in only the wall of heart
- is an involuntary muscle control
- is used in pumping action of heart into vessels and chambers
