The Chronology of Philippine History: in the (Western) World Context

Note: The entries on this chronology comes from The People's Chronology by James Trager A Henry Holt Reference Book Henry Holt and Co., N.Y. 1992. As the title of this chronology suggests, this is Philippine History as written by a Western historian and as seen in the Western context, i.e. how the Western world view the Philippines in the scheme of world history. For a Filipino view of Philippine history, the reader is advised to read Agoncillo's A Short History of the Filipino People or for a really concise crash course in Philippine history, Roces and Roces's Culture Shock! Philippines, A Guide to Customs and Etiquette is an excellent source. And it's available in the here in Tribung Pinoy through amazon.com books. Just click on the title.
