So I was actually planning to come on here a lot sooner and get a bit more done on here, except that I went to my parent's house, and the labtop that I usually use to work on this site had the k button and the , button not working at all, so those both were pretty integral, and it made it pretty impossible for me to be able to do anything. But anyways, I'm on it now, and things are good, so I'll update you a little on all that has happened, because it has been a fair bit. About two weeks ago, I got to meet with the Komants, who of course are the PAOC missionaries to Rwanda, Elmer and Sherry. They were both definitely awesome people and it was great getting to spend some time with them and meet them. I met up with Elmer at 9:00 at TWU (Trinity Western University) and I was at their daughter's apartment with them (as that's where they were staying) for about three hours just talking, figuring stuff out and all that. So it was definitely a very well spent 3 hours. I told them my testimony, all that had happened to me basically to bring me to the point of where I am now, and then they both shared theirs so we would understand where we're coming from a little better. then later I got all the budget numbers I would need for Rwanda; basically just the rough draft of what it's going to cost to be over there. It's just a little above what I was aiming at, but that's fine because God provides. So I definitley plan to get the final draft of that soon (with the help of Cory Sorenson from Broadway Church) and then let everyone know what exactly I'll be needing on here and in a few different ways. The saturday after I met with the Komants, my good friend Laceydawn came down to Vancouver and we went to GM Place to watch the Canucks kick the Avalanche 6-4... should have been a 5-1 final, but thats fine. A couple days after that I got on the bus and headed to Penticton, where I spent my last week hanging out with my grandparents and my dad, as he is moving to Penticton from Salmon Arm. So it was definitely a pretty good time. I got to hang out with Laceydawn a little bit there as well, and also some of the people on the Summit Pacific College Impact team who came up to Summerland for the weekend. That was definitely cool seeing Jeremy and others. Yesterday, I jumped on a bus again and now I am visiting my friend Danielle in Castlegar. I believe I'll be back sometime tomorrow (friday) night, and then I'll be getting back to work and trying to find a job as well as set up about a half dozen different meetings that I have to have. So it's going to be a little busy, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. Things are coming along well, and the assessment package I finished a few weeks ago should be done being processed and all that in a couple more weeks, after which I'll be able to have my big interview with the PAOC. Pray for me for that for sure! I'm going to really need that a lot. |
