Alright so, for all of those of you who didn't believe me when I said I would keep things updated much more often on here, check this out! I put up a journal just one week ago, and here's another one! That is amazing! It actually is pretty amazing. I am quite proud of myself I must say. Anyways though, onto the news and all of that stuff. So I got my work visa last week, which is awesome, because that means Im allowed to stay in the country, legally anyways. So that is always really nice. It's actually kind of cool because I get this big colorful sticker in my passport that takes up about one full page of passport space. It is always nice to go into your passport and see a whole page taken up. In Kigali city news, here is something interesting. My main transportation around here is always Mutatus (buses) and mototaxis (which are motorbike taxis). The government has just banned all mototaxis to the further out parts of the city. So no mototaxis are allowed on the main streets or at all downtown... so that has been a big change. It used to be that they were everywhere, especially downtown, swarming all over the roads like ants. Not quite to the extent of the infamous ant raid at the new church site (cedar grove church inside thing), but they definitely still cluttered the streets a fair bit. Now the streets are much more wide open and free with only cars on them, and the number of accidents should pretty much plummit now too. You'd think some guys would ignore the rules and try to get around the banned places anyways, but then you notice cops with assault rifles standing at key intersections and you understand why they follow the rules closely. I would too. I thought this might make my transportation issues a lot harder, but actually if anything this might make it a bit easier. All the mototaxis have flooded out of the downtown aread and now they are all around where I am now. It is more difficult to get around on them as they cant go to so many places, but they can take me to the main places where I can just get a mutatu no problem, so that works great. It might be slightly more expensive now, but transportation should be quicker and easier. So I am satisfied. Other than that, not too much else happening within the last week. I'm already having to think about Christmas stuff for kid's ministry. That seems crazy as it is still August, but I need to at least have it in mind. We have a kid's leaders meeting coming up on Sept.`1, and I may have to lead it myself without Sherry Komant even there at all. That makes me a little nervous. Plus Elmer and Sherry are going home in mid September I believe until about mid November, so that makes me nervous too. Im going to be quite independant and on my own even more than I already am fairly soon. Actually more so as of about Monday as they need to go off to Kumbya for a meeting for a week. So what to pray for? Pray for help and guidance for me in these times coming when I will be left to myself to be sure that all CLA kid's ministry areas are working and functioning smoothly. Also pray for me to be able to start preparing for these things like the Christmas Kids program and other similar things, as I really am just trying my best and have no idea what I'm doing honestly. Thankyou very much, and God bless! |
