Well, things have fully changed since last time I posted a journal entry on here. The rest of my summer is going to be quite a bit different. I'm still leaving to Ontario for two weeks to go to Transitions, the missionary training program of the PAOC, but instead of coming back afterwards and going to work at the superstore, I'll be going up to my dad's lodge, the Queen Charlotte Fishing Lodge, and working there until probably mid to late October. Where I was making about $120 a week at superstore, I'll be making about $100 a day at the lodge. So obviously this is going to be a lot better and efficient for being able to make some money for paying for a plane ticket to Africa. So I'm kinda excited about it, because I should be able to not only afford my plane ticket, but maybe pay for a vehicle once I get over there too, which would be really nice for sure. Then of course before I'm done there I could sell my car and bring the money back here for another car back here at home. But that's a long way off. Tonight is my last shift at superstore, and I'm closing, so that's fitting. I still kind of need to find a way to the airport on sunday morning, at like 5 am, so there's an issue, but I'm sure it'll work out somehow. I'm sacrificing a lot to go work at the lodge. I'm going to have to miss my friend Andrea's wedding, who was my team leader in Omega, so that sucks. What sucks even more is that I'm going to miss the Omega Reunion in October, so that kind of hurts, because that means theres a lot of people there from Omega I'll probably never see again. If any Omegas read this, I'm sorry, no real choice on this. Just something I need to do I guess if I want to get to Africa. Anyways, that's all for now. |
